Fighting climate change
Calba commits to fighting climate change by operating sustainable practices on a daily basis. This includes promoting a no-waste policy where, for example, staff are encouraged to not use and paper or plastic cups and instead use recyclable bottles. We aim to promote cloud storage and digital documentation for signing and scanning most paperwork. If we use materials that are recyclable, there are numerous recycling facilities at our office at Gyleview House, Edinburgh.
To help minimise carbon emissions, Calba has a bike-to-work scheme and our staff do not regularly use vehicles to travel to/from their place of work. Our office is situated near numerous public transport options giving staff the flexibility to travel to work. Calba also offers our employees flexible working to minimise the need for a daily commute therefore, helping to reduce our carbon footprint. We also aim to be as energy efficient as possible by ensuring all lights and power sources are switched off when not in use as well as using energy efficient monitors to minimise our carbon footprint. We believe that maintaining these practices throughout the delivery of this contract and beyond will continue to minimise the emissions that Calba produces.Covid-19 recovery
