Tackling economic inequality

Curo is a member of The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) via which we have access to industry leading information relating to current skills shortages, demographic information/trends and anticipated high-growth sectors. Our customers benefit from such market intelligence, enabling them to see trends early and act appropriately to manage any changes in the employment market.
As a REC member Curo is bound to the REC Code of Conduct which is designed to ensure members operate in the correct way and follow ethical recruitment practices. Curo’s leaders attend employment industry seminars, workshops and conferences giving
them early insights into emerging technologies, legislation and industry trends, which enables Curo and its customers to be proactive in the face of both threats and opportunities.

Equal opportunity

When discussing each opportunity with a customer, Curo will ascertain which elements of any resourcing requirement are essential for the new hire and which items are considered desirable. This allows Curo to identify individuals, some of whom will likely belong to disadvantaged or minority groups, that meet the minimum requirements.

Curo provides a selection of resources for a customer to review for each requirement. Ideally candidates will have all of the required skills and experience for the project they are being considered for, however some may be submitted who meet some (but not all) of the requirements on the basis that they may receive training and grow into a higher paid role than they have previously held. Candidates’ career aspirations and appetite for progression will be highlighted to the customer. Curo interviews and selects resources on a competency basis, recommending the best person for each requirement irrespective of their background. Should a customer have an equal opportunities objective Curo will work with them to help achieve this.
Curo is registered as Disability Confident Committed. Having supported and developed disabled members of our internal team from mid-level into senior positions in our business, we are able to provide advice to customers relating to the reasonable adjustments they can provide to ensure those with disabilities can succeed in their organisations.
In addition Curo employs a number of single parents and parents returning to work on a part-time and full-time basis. We are able to provide the flexibility required for such team members to manage their personal commitments while adding value to our organisation and earning well. Curo is happy to share our practices and approach in this area with our customers.
