Planning
- Planning service
- Yes
- How the planning service works
-
We plan and run our projects using a combination of agile and waterfall approaches, with the balance depending upon the nature of the project.
Projects in which we are developing analytical models suit a more agile approach. Projects in which tasks are more predictable at the outset or have significant interdependencies – e.g. designing metrics, setting up data collections and implementing performance reporting – suit the waterfall approach.
In common, all projects will involve:
(1) Agreeing the scope and requirements
(2) Formulating a list of activities and identifying software, tool and data access requirements
(3) Establishing and maintaining a log of project risks & issues
(4) Scheduling the work as a sequence of work packages, activities and tasks
(5) Undertaking the work
(6) Reporting the findings and results - Planning service works with specific services

- How the training service works

Where training is required, we tailor courses to stakeholder requirements, users’ skill sets and the IT/development environment. This may include any combination of:
(1) 1:1 or classroom training, virtual or in-person
(2) Handover presentation
(3) Written report
(4) User documentation
(5) Technical documentation - Training is tied to specific services

Setup and migration
- Setup or migration service available

- How the setup or migration service works
-
We have experience setting up and migrating analytical models and APIs onto AWS, Azure and Google cloud platforms. Our preference is to deliver models – developed in R, Shiny, Python, C# or C++ – using Docker. This provides advantages in terms of a quicker iterative development cycle and a more robust and scalable end product. However, we can also assist with deployment using virtual machines or client-managed servers, where that is preferred.
We use Git in conjunction with either GitHub or Azure Devops to manage source control. With this we can support continuous (CI/CD-type) deployments if required. - Setup or migration service is for specific cloud services

Quality assurance and performance testing
- Quality assurance and performance testing service
- Yes
- How the quality assurance and performance testing works
-
Quality assurance (QA) is built into all our project plans.
QA checks are carried out by a senior consultant not otherwise involved in the project. A typical plan would include QA checkpoints at each stage, e.g.
(1) Solution design. Validating the design will meet requirements with minimal risk.
(2) Implementation. Verifying the design is being effectively implemented.
(3) Testing. Confirming the test plan is effective.
(4) Final review / lessons learned.
Additionally, we are happy to comply with our customer’s internal quality assurance procedures.
