- SMART requires appropriate intranet and Internet access to link servers with client devices. SMART supports any modern device and a wide variety of server operating systems and configurations and will conform to customer existing infrastructure. An on-premises or hybrid server deployment requires physical or virtual servers running a vendor-supported version of Linux or Windows. Containerised deployments are also supported. Detailed tuning of server hardware specifications occurs early in the implementation phase.

Covid-19 recovery
At its foundations, Acadiant is designed to maintain operations through disruptive events. From the outset, Acadiant has not only been building software for remote working, but also has set itself up to support remote working. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this proved essential.
All Acadiant employees have been working from home with the tools and technology needed for software development and maintenance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. We are continuing to seamlessly deliver the highest quality software and to maintain full continuity during the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing.
Our software, which runs on any operating system and device, is fundamentally designed to support remote working. This is valuable for our customers as well as our employees.
Medical Directors, Mortality Leads, Structured Judgement Reviewers, Medical Examiners, Governance Leads, and Consultants have been able to use SMART’s real-time, intuitive dashboards and analytics to conduct their Mortality Review Group Meetings and Morbidity & Mortality Meetings remotely throughout the pandemic and continuing. If anything, working remotely has facilitated a larger quorum in many of the meetings, encouraging even broader Learning from Deaths.
Moreover, SMART supports the review of in-hospital and COVID-related deaths to improve patient care and safety. The Medical Examiner’s Advice and Scrutiny Form (ME-1B) has been enhanced so the Medical Examiner Officer can include relevant COVID-19 information about the deceased.
A COVID-19 Dashboard lists all patients who died with a primary or secondary diagnosis of COVID-19. In addition, tables and charts of COVID-19 deaths are further broken down by gender, age, length of spell, and various combinations of those categories, to help clinicians identify trends.
The Key Learnings section at the bottom of every Mortality Review form continues to serve as an important tool for reflection on all deaths—including those with COVID-19—at every stage of the pandemic and ongoing.Tackling economic inequality
Acadiant is committed to equality and diversity, to creating a diverse workforce across gender, race, and age. Our engineer hiring process is gender-neutral, and of its two company directors, one is female.
Similarly, in our partnerships we seek diversity of thought and the most capable partners. We find that the broader the range of people with whom we can partner, the more diverse the ideas, and the better the outcomes.
In choosing our suppliers, we try to find those who share these values, for example working with companies that emphasise opportunities and leadership across gender and race. We are members of the Shuri Network, which supports women from minority ethnic groups in digital health, Ada’s List, which supports women in technology, and Tech London Advocates: HealthTech. We contribute to the communities in which we live and work, and have acted as mentors for the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, for the London tech community Level39, and for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations
We pay our all suppliers promptly so that small businesses do not have to struggle with cashflow. We recognise the importance of prompt payment and comply with the Small Business Commissioner's Prompt Payment Code, and pay all our invoices within agreed terms, typically within 14 days.
Most importantly, we fundamentally believe that the Acadiant platform on which we build software solutions in patient safety, telehealth, and virtual care, can contribute to equitable access to health care and an improved, easier work experience for both employees and customers.Equal opportunity
