Scaling
- Independence of resources
- 1Place is a cloud-based solution and is independently provisioned and sized depending upon the database environment to be migrated. It is scaled either vertically (large complex database, one at a time) by adding more compute power to the host server or horizontally (many databases at once in parallel) by purchasing more 1Place subscriptions per database or for a few databases. This means that migrations can be accelerated much faster by applying more resources or subscriptions and are not throttled by external users.
Analytics

- Metrics types
- Subscription usage is measured in hours and is operated via the cloud providers and can be integrated with Cloud monitoring tools such as Amazon Cloudwatch. Availability and resilience
- Guaranteed availability
- We follow the SLAs provided by AWS and Azure for the availability of the servers that the 1Place Software is installed on. If the software fails we adhere to the refund policy of the cloud provider. If the 1Place software is at fault we operate a credit system which is multiplayer of the software downtime experienced.
- Approach to resilience
- We adhere to the resilience policies of the cloud providers (Amazon and Azure) that the users are migrating their databases to. The cloud servers that the 1Place software is installed on will be provided by the user's own cloud platform and therefore it is the user's responsibility that the servers or cloud providers meet the level of resilience required.
- Outage reporting
- Yes if the database synchronisation fails alerts are produced via a dashboard and can also be emailed to the user. A real-time dashboard displays the in-play database migrations showing the migration process and any faults are immediately visible. 1Place is also fully integrated with monitoring solutions such as Amazon Cloudwatch and inherits the alerting functionality contained in Cloud Watch and other software packages can use the 1Place API for seamless monitoring.

Security Awareness and Training Guidelines Policy
The board of directors are responsible for security policies across the 1Place1Cloud company with specific attention to software and cloud security. Operational security
- Configuration and change management standard
- Supplier-defined controls
- Configuration and change management approach
- At 1Place we use Github for configuration management and change management (version control). Github is used as a code repository and version control tool for the 1Place code base, as well as infrastructure configuration management. There are two main methodologies when checking in code, feature branches and single trunk. Feature branches allow our developers to check-in code simultaneously and merge in changes made from a single feature branch. Single trunk follows the idea that all checked in changes have been through a thorough battery of tests to ensure the code is always in a deployable state.
- Vulnerability management type
- Supplier-defined controls
- Vulnerability management approach
- We are able to use Amazon AWS Inspector and Azure Security Manager for continuous and automated vulnerability management of our cloud servers and Amazon marketplace listing. When Security patches are identified by either vendors, our own software developers or by Cloud provided tools patches are applied as soon as tested under a P1 ticket. Emergency Change Management requests are discussed in a Change Advisory Board. 1Place is cyber essentials certified and has a vulnerability management process documented in our Information Security Management Policy.
- Protective monitoring type
- Supplier-defined controls
- Protective monitoring approach
- We follow protective monitoring processes as defined by Amazon AWS and Azure who provide regular security updates and defined security policies that need to be followed by partners. For example recently on the AWS marketplace, we were notified of a vulnerability that needed to be actioned, we raised a P1 ticket on our Jira service desk and actioned the issue. Our service support desk is 24*7 so can respond to these issues immediately upon notifiction.
- Incident management type
- Supplier-defined controls
- Incident management approach
-
External Users or Internal developers follow the same process which is a triage of the issue with appropriate escalation using a Jira based ITIL service desk approach P1 - P5 ticket assessment. Tickets are raised via email or portal. The process is
Detect the incident
Set up team communication channels
Assess the impact and apply a severity level
Communicate with customers
Escalate to the right responders
Delegate incident response roles
Resolve the incident
Reports are published post-event and during the event, users can access the service desk ticket portal for updates
