Fighting Climate Change

IT Works Health has implemented an environmental policy to fight climate change that targets net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 by:

• Implementing pollution prevention measures and minimising environmental harm and nuisance
• Monitoring and compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice on environmental matters
• Creating an environmentally friendly work culture through training and high-quality communication with all staff
• Continually improving our environmental performance through monitoring and review
• Proactive steps to measure and minimise waste and to reuse or recycle materials
• Developing sustainable supply chains by using suppliers that support environmental protection and improvement

For each call-off contract we will implement the following special objectives:

• Minimising the environmental impact of business travel
• Reducing paper and plastic consumption and other resources
• Minimising the volume of waste generated and maximise reuse, recycling and energy recovery from waste
• Regular reassessment of changing technology, business requirements and best environmental practices

IT Works Health already provides social value for all our NHS clients and our formal social value policy document can be shared with CCS on request.

For each call-off contract IT Works Health will commit to providing a social value of 5% of our expenditure on the contract.

We will work with call-off Customers for each contract to understand and comply with their social value priorities. This information will be used to identify, propose and deliver social value initiatives, proportionate and relevant to each Call-Off Contract. The benefits and impacts from these initiatives will be recorded and provided in a performance report to the Customer, as required and to CCS every 12 months or as required.

Covid-19 recovery

COVID-19 recovery

IT Works Health already helps our communities recover from COVID-19 through the following:

• Creating return to work opportunities for those left unemployed by Covid-19
• Through our engagement with local businesses we support our local community manage and recover from Covid-19
• Our wellbeing programme supports the physical and mental health of people affected by Covid-19
• We have modified our workplace conditions to support the COVID-19 recovery effort including effective social distancing, remote working and sustainable travel solutions.

We will continue to provide these measures to help call-off customers in Covid-19 recovery.

Tackling economic inequality

Tackling Economic Inequality

• Creating new businesses, new jobs and new skills

Economic inequality will be addressed over the course of the Framework, in each 12 months, by IT Works Health creating 10 new jobs in the local community; creating 2 traineeships for local residents; a positive profile for the region will be created through at least 2 positive stories in the local media.

We guarantee that all staff will continue to be paid above the living wage and annual reviews for the lowest-paid staff will always be above inflation.

• Increasing supply chain resilience and capacity

IT Works Health currently supports a supply chain of local companies through service charge, impact, cleaning, Digitap, and management consultancy. The value of support we provide to local economy equates to a value of 8.3% of total expenditure in the local supply chain.

We will continue to offer these measures to tackle economic inequality for call-off customers.

IT Works Health has pro-actively taken steps to improve the health and wellbeing of our contract and consulting workforce as well as our own staff. This is an on-going process that includes health and wellbeing assessments followed by a full support package. A typical example is our flexible working practice that includes working from home.
