Belay Ltd provides bespoke planning and business support analysis to enable stakeholders to understand the costs, benefits and achievability issues associated with the delivery of the programme or Project.
Working with clients, we conduct an in-depth discovery process at the outset of all engagements. This ensures a comprehensive understanding of requirements, which enables us to plan the delivery of the optimum solution. The collaborative planning process takes place within multi-supplier environments, creating a transparent roadmap for delivery. We always deploy the right people with the right skills and experience at the right cost. Ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined to develop a focussed “one-team” ethos.
With extensive expertise in a wide range of delivery methodologies, Belay practitioners approach planning using industry standard and codified best practice standards, combined with global and hard won expertise and insight. This enables us to produce bespoke plans that are efficient, value for money and completely aligned to client defined requirements, benefits and outcomes. This consistently ensures that delivery is achieved on time, with quality and to budget.
Working with partners, Belay specialises in novel and innovative technology, such as cloud based hardware and software, and has experience in designing bespoke analysis across Government. - Planning service works with specific services

Belay are committed to ensuring that client staff are an integral part of the programme journey. Belay pledges to guide, mentor and train where applicable, enabling them to rapidly reduce their dependency on external support. We achieve this through a rigorous Knowledge Transfer Programme that includes:
• Mentoring. Ongoing advice and guidance provided by the delivery team
• Guided Experience. When practical, the user performs the work whilst being supervised by our experts
• Communities of Practice. We establish groups that learn together and share knowledge and information between themselves in regular forum meetings to accelerate learning
• Training. One-to-one or larger group training can be provided. These will be agreed as part of the plan and can be delivered Face to Face, Computer based or hybrid. Training in specific areas can also be arranged through Belay and its partners.
The Belay objective is to enable our clients to move to business as usual with their own staff as soon as possible. All Knowledge Transfer activities are reviewed on a continual basis to ensure that they are delivering a measurable benefit to the client. Fighting climate change
Combating climate change is one of the biggest challenges we face today, and the fight against it is a priority for Belay. We recognise that to succeed, all the elements of our employees, supply chain, partners, and customers must contribute.
The main objectives of all Belay climate change support activities are:
• To improve awareness and understanding of climate change amongst our extended team.
• To demonstrate that daily activities can collectively make a big difference and that everyone has a role to play in the fight.
• To motivate employees, supply chain, partners, and customers to undertake these small, significant changes to their daily routine.
Belay will communicate and enact its climate change support and direction in the following ways:
• Building a culture of awareness. Making sustainability part of our culture, both in and out of the office.
• Rethinking our waste. We are consistently thinking about ways we can cut down waste
• Reducing our travel. Use video conferencing technology to conduct our business virtually wherever possible. Working flexibly, with minimal travel (including to client locations).
• Working with environmentally conscious vendors. We continuously consider our supply chain and providers, ensuring that our values align. We use local vendors and suppliers where possible, supporting the local economy and reducing our carbon footprint.
• Saving energy. We are reducing the number of active service elements and encouraging our customers to do likewise.
• Using the cloud. Cloud computing is the ADVAL approach of choice, maximising energy, and resource efficiency, reducing footprint and providing flexibility. It also cuts back on hardware and manufacturing, plus the emissions associated with both.
• Getting involved. The Belay ethos is especially team orientated. Combating climate change is a team sport, and all the elements of the Belay ecosystem are playing to win.Covid-19 recovery
Like many organisations, the unprecedented health crisis caused by Covid 19 and the resulting impact to the global economy have fully tested Belay’s organisational agility and resilience. Part of the response is the Belay Covid 19 Recovery plan, which forms part of the wider Business Recovery plan. The was developed in response to the initial emergence of the global pandemic. The document and all subsequent updates are owned by the Executive Management team and is regularly updated to reflect the changing situation.
The exact Belay response to Covid 19 will be tailored to the nature, scale and location of the threat in the UK, as our understanding of this develops and in line with official guidance.
Thanks to a significant investment in our technology and security foundations, we were able to respond with agility and speed. This enabled us to maintain a flexible operating model and agile ways of working. We also ensured that every one of our employees were able to work safely in a remote environment.
The plan ensures that Belay is able to continue to deliver services and support to our customers, by effectively managing the risk of infection associated with Covid 19, by implementing appropriate contingency arrangements should further outbreaks occur. The objective is to minimise impact to our services and ensure that we can maintain sufficient staffing levels to operate services safely.
The key objectives of the plan are to:
• Provide basic information about our arrangements, including staff and suppliers
• Provide an overview of communications protocols and escalation mechanisms
• Provide a framework for responding to any incident in respect of Covid 19
• Identify key actions employees must take in respect of Covid 19
• Outline our contingency arrangements to provide emergency staffing, should the need presentTackling economic inequality
Economic, political, and environmental systems. Having a good understanding of inequality’s causes and consequences is key to reducing it. Eradicating extreme poverty and hunger is the first step, however, it is imperative we invest more in health, education, social protection, and good jobs, especially for the homeless, young people, migrants, and others trapped in poverty with little chance to climb up the social ladder.
Belay is committed to reducing economic inequality. The founding members of Belay are all ex serving members of the UK Armed Forces, as such Belay has chosen to focus its efforts in tackling economic inequality, as a member of the Armed Forces Covenant. The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation to those who serve or who have served, and their families. Belay has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and in doing so, have made our own promises of support.
Belay is committed to creating policies and projects that help the wider Armed Forces community such as working with the Career Transition Partnership to find greater positions for service leavers, employing and supporting Service spouses and partners or offering a discount to members of the Armed Forces community. Our policies include:
• Providing employment and training opportunities to disadvantaged people and communities. This is focussed on providing opportunities for veterans, especially homeless veterans and those struggling to transition into civilian life.
• Ensuring that a living wage is paid to its employees and encouraging suppliers to do the same.
• Creating decent work and a higher standard of living.
• Eliminating employee discrimination will be eliminated and encouraging suppliers to do the same.Equal opportunity
Equal Opportunity Employer Statement
At Belay we consider diversity to mean celebrating difference and valuing everyone. Each person is an individual with visible and non-visible differences and by respecting this. All our employees can feel valued for their contributions which are beneficial, not only for the individual but for the whole of our business.
We consider that equality means breaking down barriers, eliminating discrimination and ensuring equal opportunities and access for all groups both in employment, and to our partners and service providers.
We acknowledge that equality and diversity are not inter-changeable but inter-dependent. There can be no equality of opportunity if difference is not valued and harnessed.
Belay is a diversity and equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other protected characteristic. The Belay Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policy (available on request) details all our EEO employment practices within our organisation, including hiring, recruiting, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, leave of absence, compensation, benefits, training, and apprenticeships. Belay makes hiring decisions based solely on qualifications, merit, and business needs at the time.Wellbeing
Belay recognises that employee wellbeing is a critical component of a healthy working environment and organisation, and that the positive promotion of wellbeing make it easier for employees to manage stress levels while also maintaining a positive and productive environment. We consider wellbeing as the promotion and maintenance of both mental and physical health, as well as more complex things such as satisfaction and engagement levels.
Wellbeing is influenced by various factors such as their relationships with co-workers, the decisions they make, and the tools and resources they access. The hours they work, pay, and workplace environment and safety also have a significant impact on employee wellbeing.
Belay strives to provide our workers with the necessary support and care for their physical and mental health. This is detailed in the Belay wellbeing strategy. The Belay wellbeing strategy is available to all employees and is helping employees feel valued and supported at work. This is leading to improved employee engagement, that is motivating teams business wide to achieve their aspirations and reach their goals.
Employee wellbeing is being achieved through a wellbeing program in our (physical and virtual) workplace using a project management solution. Our solution has the following elements:
• Strong and visible wellbeing leadership
• Strong communication
• A wellbeing plan and schedule
• Wellbeing management and reporting
