Tackling economic inequality

To support the "Tackling Economic Inequality" pillar of PPN 06/20, we will complete the following as part of any GCloud contract:

Promote Inclusive Procurement: We will strive to priorities engagements with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), social enterprises, and suppliers from economically disadvantaged areas. This creates opportunities for businesses often excluded from the procurement process, directly contributing to reducing economic disparities.

Implement Living Wage Policies: As part of any contracts we undertake, we will mandate our contractor base must commit to paying their employees a living wage. This policy ensures fair pay for workers, which is crucial for reducing poverty levels and addressing income inequality.

Support Workforce Development: As part of our contracts, we will isolate opportunities for apprenticeships, training, and skill development, with a particular focus on individuals from underrepresented or economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Examples of this can already be seen through our Hire-Train-Deploy service offering which focuses on working with individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds as a priority.

Support Local Unemployment: As part of our wider business offering, we have individuals who can offering their employment and recruitment expertise. Through CV workshops, interview practice and social media training, we can support individuals from long term unemployed backgrounds market themselves.

Measure and Report Impact: Where a contract gives us the opportunity to, we will establish clear metrics to gauge the impact of procurement activities on economic inequality and mandate suppliers to report on these metrics. This transparency and accountability ensure active pursuit and achievement of the goals of reducing economic inequality.

Equal opportunity

As an organisation which has achieved Disability Confident Leader and Clear Assured Platinum status, we understand the importance in diversity and inclusion. Therefore, to align with the "Equal Opportunities" pillar of PPN 06/20, we will promote diversity and inclusion through our GCloud contracts by offering the follow:

Embedding Equality in Contract Requirements: As part of our contract, we will work with clients to agree standard practices in equality and non-discrimination to form part of our contract requirements. This can involve implementing policies that foster an inclusive workplace, such as flexible working hours, support for employees with disabilities, and robust anti-discrimination training and policies.

Promote Workforce Diversity: We will develop and implement strategies that increase diversity within our teams, including recruitment, retention, and advancement of underrepresented groups (such as our current Hire-Train-Deploy program which in centred around individuals from protected backgrounds). This could also involve setting specific targets or benchmarks for diversity as part of our contract.

Support for Supplier Diversity Programs: We will create programs or initiatives that support the development of diversity within our clients. Through our Page Consulting HR Advisory offering, we can offer advice and support on our client’s mentorship programs and other internal initiatives. Furthermore, we will invite them to our networking events with our ED&I partners to support them in understanding best practice from industry experts.

Transparency and Accountability: We will offer clear metrics for measuring and reporting on the diversity and inclusion of our workforce being deployed as part of our service. We will also regularly review these metrics to ensure progress towards equal opportunities and make adjustments to strategies as necessary.

Wellbeing

To support the "Wellbeing" pillar of PPN 06/20, a focus on enhancing the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of individuals through our contract will be done by:

Prioritise Mental and Physical Health: We will offer initiatives supporting the mental and physical health of our employees as part of our contract. This will include workplace wellness programs, support for mental health initiatives, and projects that promote physical activity and healthy living.

Sustainable and Healthy Environments: As part of our contracts, we will demonstrate a commitment to environmental sustainability practices.

Support for Work-Life Balance: We will ensure that our policies remain up to date with best practice around a healthy work-life balance for our employees, such as flexible working arrangements, parental leave, and measures that reduce work-related stress. This approach recognises the importance of mental wellbeing in the workplace.

Monitoring and Evaluation: We will monitor and evaluate the impact of procurement on community wellbeing through our own supply chains. This involves setting clear metrics for wellbeing outcomes and requiring suppliers to report on how their contributions are making a positive impact.
