- The Foundation Plan is optimised for standard cloud deployments that do not require continuous weekend coverage or High Availability (HA) configurations. Technical support operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), with case management accessible to four designated support contacts. While comprehensive for standard business needs, this tier does not include advanced enterprise features reserved for higher plans, such as Log Streaming, Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) encryption, the dedicated Lead Support Engineer service, or annual customer audits. Additionally, the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for platform availability is set at 99.80%.

- The Foundation Plan provides aggressive initial response targets to ensure standard deployments run smoothly. For Priority 1 (Critical) issues, Appian commits to an initial response within 1 business hour. Priority 2 (High) issues receive a response within 2 business hours. For routine inquiries, Priority 3 (Normal) issues are addressed within 8 business hours, and Priority 4 (Low) issues within 12 business hours. These targets ensure that while the plan is designed for standard workloads, critical blockers are addressed with urgency.

The Foundation Plan establishes a robust standard for enterprise cloud deployments, backed by a financially credited 99.80% Service Level Agreement (SLA) for platform availability. Support operations are structured to balance comprehensive coverage with cost-efficiency: Priority 1 (Critical) and Priority 2 (High) issues are serviced 24 hours a day, 5 days a week (Monday through Friday), ensuring that significant blockers are addressed continuously during the global business week. Routine inquiries (Priority 3 and 4) are handled during local business hours.
This plan authorises 4 designated support contacts to manage the support lifecycle via both telephone and the Appian Community web portal. Beyond reactive troubleshooting, the service includes proactive strategic resources, specifically a designated Customer Success Manager (CSM) and access to On-Demand Advisory Services, which provide expert guidance on governance and best practices.
From an infrastructure perspective, the Foundation Plan allows deployment to any available global hosting region and includes essential integration capabilities such as Private Network Integrations (VPN) , Custom Domain configurations, and Custom Mail Server setups. It also enables the Enhanced Data Pipeline for high-throughput data operations and includes Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Standardised Information Gathering (SIG) reporting to meet standard security compliance needs.
