Tackling economic inequalityTackling economic inequality
Evolve Commercial is proud of its efforts to tackle economic inequality. We actively reduce barriers to entry posed by those living in disadvantaged areas through offering a digital first, fully remote-working model. The flexibility of home-working and financial support for appropriate furniture and materials, allows those with disabilities to feel supported within their role as well as further reducing barriers to employment faced through commuting and lack of accessibility in transport.
We are currently implementing an Evolve Social Value strategy, in which support to Reservists and Cadets will be a critical element.
Evolve are currently engaging with Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK to facilitate a corporate partnership. We recognise the growing requirement for skilled procurement and commercial professionals within defence, and that, largely, Procurement professionals have fallen into roles. However, to promote our profession, Evolve want to work with young cadets to provide employment insight and showcase the opportunities available, coupled with skills mentoring to support multiple future career choices.
For call-offs under this service description, we will work with Buyers to identify further opportunities to work towards tackling economic inequality. We will offer ‘Knowledge Lunches’ to the Authority, covering framework overview, tender documents, contracts, and negotiation. Further, we will work with Buyers to increase awareness of Procurement in schools and colleges in disadvantaged areas. Recently, Evolve collaborated with a charity, Ablaze Bristol, to deliver a 6-week program to a secondary school. The sessions covered exploring career opportunities, overcoming barriers, setting, and achieving goals, and enhancing employability. Within the next six months, our target is to have successfully delivered one talk with a direct link to a G-Cloud 14 Buyer, with scope to extend this to an additional two sessions in the following six months. With a final goal of offering four per annum by the 2025/26 academic year.
