How the planning service works
Cadmidium uses the principles from both PRINCE2 and Agile project management to plan the implementation of software services, as well as using a DevOps environment to plan customer requirements. Our specialist team will track progress at low and high levels of granularity. Creating backlogs, tracking bugs, managing agile software development with Scrum, using Kanban boards, and visualising progress with dashboards ensuring that all team members plan with agility and visibility.
Alongside this, our teams adopt the Systems Engineering Life Cycle which initially focuses on the current architecture of the environment to gain a full understanding, leading to a Feasibility Study based on the requirements. Our SME’s will then conduct a discovery phase looking at the Concept of Operations reaching a shared understanding of the system to be developed and how it is envisaged that it will be operated and maintained in-service. System requirements are then elicited, analysed, validated, documented, and base lined, in line with ISO 15288 and ISO 12207, before moving onto the creation of High-level designs and implementing the proposed solution of the software services.

How the setup or migration service works
Our specialist teams would work to understand any current physical & cloud environments through a discovery phase, this would provide the 'As-Is'. A Gap Analysis will be conducted to understand what is required within the 'To-Be' environment, enabling our team to create and advise on a high-level design. Following acceptance, we will build, train, implement and give ongoing support (first, second and third line) if required by the customer on the agreed solution.
Cadmidium employs the processes, procedures, tasks, and checklists detailed in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) best practices, to enable delivery of high-quality IT services. Using effective application of Service Integration and Management (SIAM) and other tools, we offer maximum efficiency, maintain levels of service and standardisation around selection, planning, delivery, and support of IT.

How the quality assurance and performance testing works
Cadmidium use a range of processes and methodologies to manage the performance testing of products for our customers.

Cadmidium are able to conduct performance testing in line with a customers Integrated Test Evaluation and Acceptance Plan (ITEAP), by completing this service, we test the performance of the product against the initial requirement and assessing it's Technical Readiness Level (TRL). Using TRL's we assess the performance of a product and can estimate the technology maturity by looking at the program concepts, technology requirements, and demonstrated technology capabilities.

Our team also completes Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), which assures all parties that the product complies with the stated specifications and also can help with addressing any functional issues. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is also performed to provide confidence that the final product is fit for purpose before deploying onto, or into the customers chosen environment.

Throughout performance testing, our specialist team will document; errors, enhancements and fixes, communicating our findings to our customer by way of a formal report.

Within all work conducted by Cadmidium robust processes are followed which are ISO 9001:2015 certified, this ensures high quality outputs and successful delivery to our customers.

We collectively host a number of virtual solutions, which we have developed, built and migrated to a virtual environment. We offer ongoing maintenance, and cloud-based training for all of our messaging solutions.

Fighting climate change

We adopted home working for all of our employees using Office 365 teams and hosted our diverse IT services in a carbon neutral data centre, having closed down our CO2 producing server farm.

We then started to monitor our CO2 usage, reducing our CO2 from 2500KG per month to less than 300KG.

Striving for more improvement, we stood up an internal project, which looked at a range of objectives to become Carbon Neutral by April 2022, which we have now achieved by partnering with Forest Carbon to offset our current CO2 and future CO2 production.

Covid-19 recovery

In the early stages of Covid, we moved offices to South Glamorgan, Wales, as our previous offices were incapable of Covid security

Analysis identified areas of Wales had higher than average unemployment yet contained a breadth of highly capable talent. Having established our Cyber and Software / Engineering facilities, recruitment has been successful within these areas by finding local people who otherwise may have been on furlough or unemployed.

Wellbeing

Cadmidium strive to provide our workforce with a balanced work / home life. Cadmidium has had a wellbeing function which was established in 2018, which has provided support for a range of things. Our Wellbeing function includes internal members who are first aid trained for mental health.

Since moving to home working due to Covid-19, our wellbeing officer is responsible for ensuring working practices / work life balance harmonise ensuring overall wellbeing. During Covid 19 our wellbeing officer maintained regular contact with all employees, prioritising those who were living alone (working from home) and or isolating.
