Fighting climate change
We are currently looking to partner with a Carbon Management platform, to perform our carbon accounting, and look into reduction methods. We have an internal Climate Committee and are in the beginning steps of looking into B-Corp certification.Tackling economic inequality
We are partnered with The Early Careers Foundation, a social mobility charity that works with young people from low-income backgrounds across the UK. Social inequality is a huge problem in the UK – family wealth at birth (not IQ, race, or gender) is still the most accurate predictor of future financial success. The Early Careers Foundation is committed to ensuring that talent, not background, is what determines a young person’s career success.
One of the Foundation's initiatives is the Mentoring Programme, which pairs employees with 16-18-year-old students from their School Partners for mentoring sessions. The programme requires a modest commitment while yielding a significant impact, which includes one hour a month to deliver virtual sessions to their mentee. The Early Careers Foundation provides each mentor with full training and support throughout the year, as well as session plans to guide each mentoring session.Equal opportunity
We are partnered with STEM Learning, who are the largest provider of education and careers support in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Part of their offering is the STEM Ambassador Programme, a national volunteering programme where volunteers and employers share knowledge and experiences to help young people of all ages achieve more and progress further along a STEM pathway. STEM Ambassadors are role models who give their time and enthusiasm to engage and inspire young people, which we offer to our employees through this partnership. This is also focused at encouraging young females into a typically male dominated space and encouraging and raising awareness of the opportunities available to them.
Basis Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer and we encourage applications from all people regardless of race, religion, gender, age, disability status or sexual orientation.Wellbeing
Basis Technologies has Mental Health First aiders across all of our regions.
