Fighting climate change
DigitalXRAID is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2038.
To achieve this, we will aim to reduce emissions in line with the latest science-based targets (SBTs). SBTs are greenhouse gas reduction goals set by organisations, they are defined as “science-based” when they align with the scale of reductions required to limit global temperature increases to 1.5°C compared to pre-industrial temperatures. To achieve Net Zero under this scenario, we will need to reduce our absolute emissions by 90% from our baseline year.
SBTi recommends that organisations commit to near-term targets (that cover a minimum of 5 years/maximum of 10 years from the baseline year), as well as long-term targets.
Our near-term targets:
• Reduce scope 1 & 2 emissions to zero by 2030
• Reduce Scope 3 emissions by 42% by 2030
Our long-term targets:
• Reduce our total market-based emissions (scope 1, 2 and 3) by at least 90% by 2038.
• Neutralise any residual emissions using verified carbon offsets.
Scope 1 emissions: direct greenhouse gas emissions that occur from sources owned or controlled by a company, such as emissions from the combustion of fuels in on-site boilers, furnaces, or vehicles.
Scope 2 emissions: indirect greenhouse gas emissions that result from the generation of purchased electricity, steam or other forms of energy consumed by a company.
Scope 3 emissions: all other indirect greenhouse gas emissions that occur in an organisation’s value chain, including emissions from upstream and downstream activities.
DigitalXRAID reduced its carbon footprint by
17.4% over the last year, not only setting a new benchmark for environmental responsibility within the cybersecurity industry.
DigitalXRAID's efforts have focused on addressing the wider Scope 3 emissions, which include all indirect greenhouse gas emissions occurring within the company's value chain. A significant initiative undertaken was the strategic review and electrification of company vehicles.Tackling economic inequality
DigitalXRAID is actively contributing to economic equality by creating employment and training opportunities in the field of cybersecurity. Our approach focuses on nurturing talent, supporting education, enabling business growth, and influencing our broader network to foster opportunities.
Cybersecurity as a Growth Enabler
Cybersecurity isn’t just about protection - it’s a strategic asset that drives business growth and competitive differentiation. By securing operations and data, organisations not only shield themselves from cyberthreats but also establish a foundation of trust that enhances their market position.
Creating Employment and Training Opportunities
DigitalXRAID recognises the skills shortage in the cybersecurity industry and is committed to addressing this gap. We’ve implemented a comprehensive development plan and career lifecycle.
We have successfully integrated former military personnel into our technical workforce. This is a testament to our commitment to providing meaningful career opportunities to those transitioning from different sectors, especially those with valuable transferable skills.
DigitalXRAID believes in the power of education and training to close skills gaps with recognised qualifications. Our career development pathways ensures that each team member can reach their full potential.
Influencing Our Broader Network
DigitalXRAID actively works with our local government organisations on re-training programs, demonstrating success in upskilling individuals from various backgrounds into cybersecurity roles. By doing so, we are influencing suppliers and customers to support employment and skills opportunities in high-growth sectors like cybersecurity.
By sharing our success stories and methodologies, we hope to encourage a broader movement towards economic equality.
Enhancing Supply Chain Resilience
Supply chain vulnerabilities can significantly impact operational continuity and reputation. We recognise the critical role that robust cybersecurity plays in enhancing supply chain resilience. Our continuous security monitoring of client’s environments extends to their supply chain, and we have alerted supply chain partners to active attacks before they have been identified.Equal opportunity
We are committed to supporting disabled individuals in developing new skills relevant to cybersecurity. Our training programs, which lead to recognised qualifications, are tailored to be inclusive and accessible. We ensure that our training materials and methods accommodate the needs of learners with disabilities, providing them with equal opportunities to grow and succeed in their careers.
Influencing Our Network
DigitalXRAID actively works to influence our staff, suppliers, customers, and communities to support disabled individuals. We advocate for inclusive practices and accessibility in cybersecurity systems, ensuring they are user-friendly for all end-users.
Supporting In-Work Progression
We believe in providing opportunities for all our employees, including those from disadvantaged or minority groups, to advance in their careers. DigitalXRAID supports in-work progression by offering skill development opportunities relevant to our contracts.
Championing Women in Cybersecurity
At DigitalXRAID, we take pride in the significant proportion of women in our workforce, including in leadership roles. One of our female management team members was honoured as the Cybersecurity Woman of the Year at the Computing Security Excellence Awards, a testament to our commitment to championing women in the industry. We also celebrated the drive and achievements of one of our female penetration testers in her move from Hong Kong to study and work in the UK as part of the latest International Women’s Day celebrations.
