Automation Anywhere practices layered approach to network segregation with controls at each layer. Public subnet(s) shields the internal private subnet(s) from direct internet access. Sensitive data and/or other information assets are deployed on the internal private subnets only, where there is no direct access to the internet. The only access to those assets is from select authorized hosts, restricted by network layer access control lists (ACLs), virtual private cloud (VPC) routing, and firewall rules as relevant. Within the private subnet, lateral propagation is also restricted based on business needs. We control access to our sensitive networks on a need-basis only.
Data protection within supplier network
  • TLS (version 1.2 or above)

Other protection within supplier network
Cloud infrastructure is configured based on industry and vendor-specific security best practices to ensure that misconfigured resources do not result in data exposure. In addition to security configuration, all cloud resources including virtual machines, 3rd party software components, and applications are regularly scanned for security vulnerability and prioritized/remediated in accordance with defined SLAs. Network access to infrastructure and cloud application is limited to approved TCP/IP ports and VPN connected devices. To detect security threats, Intrusion Detections, and Prevention Systems (IPS) are deployed across all cloud environments. DDoS protection is deployed to protected Automation Anywhere cloud services against the availability attack.

Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
We offer Availability Service Level Credits for failure to meet 99.90% Service Availability as per our availability service level terms here: https://www.automationanywhere.com/uptime-availability-SLA
Approach to resilience
All our Services have High-availability and Disaster recovery. Automation Anywhere maintains emergency and contingency plans and has ISO 22301 BCMS certification. High Availability: Each regional data centre presence Is designed with application-level high availability and highly available public cloud services across the region. Automation Anywhere follows industry standards best practices with a cloud uptime SLA of 99.9%. Disaster Recovery: Backups are taken and maintained in an encrypted format to restore the service in the case of a disaster. Backups are taken every 6 hours to another location. If a disaster is declared for the primary location, a secondary location is instantiated for all tenants using the backup taken every 6 hours. The current objectives for this recovery are: • RTO (Recovery Time Objective): Time to get a new location up and running with the last backup data restored = 6 hours. • RPO (Recovery Point Objective): The maximum duration for data loss during a restore = 6 hours.

The Control Room implements Separation of Duties through a configurable Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) capability, addressing NIST AC 2, 3, 5 and 6. Default Admin role is available. The role-based accessibility model ensures each User has console-access, to view information or data that is relevant to the role assigned by the Control Room Administrator. User Roles and relevant privileges are assigned from the Security Console. One can create as many different roles as required and we also publish a permission matrix on documentation portal to enable you to create a combination of roles and permissions that suit your organizational requirements.
Access restrictions in management interfaces and support channels
Access is deny-all and allow by exception based on roles, domains as defined in Role-based Access Control (RBAC). These roles can also be limited to specific groups. e.g. Only those users who have access to User Management will be able to manage users in system. Authorized users can assign various combinations of these access rights to different sets of users and roles, as the business requires.

Configuration and change management standard
Conforms to a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v3.0 or SSAE-16 / ISAE 3402
Configuration and change management approach
All teams at Automation Anywhere follow Agile methodology for delivery. A change request works its way from various sources (customers, stakeholders, product vision etc.) to the product backlog as user stories from where the team can pick them up as a part of iterations. The regular show and tell of the ongoing work keeps the stakeholders well informed and helps to make any course correction. Updates are then released 2-4 times per year.

Fighting climate change

At Automation Anywhere, we are deeply committed to environmental stewardship as part of our corporate responsibility. We are developing a comprehensive sustainability strategy, aiming to understand and manage our environmental impact better. We focus on energy management, particularly through remote work policies and energy-efficient office spaces. Our offices, especially in Bangalore, are in LEED-certified buildings, emphasizing our commitment to green building standards. Additionally, we are evaluating our carbon footprint and seeking ways to reduce it. This includes utilizing sustainable travel options and optimizing business travel with tools that track carbon emissions. We are exploring renewable energy solutions and efficient energy use within our 100 percent office leasing model, striving to partner with landlords who prioritize sustainability. In FY2023, we launched a partnership with Camara Education, an international charity that delivers digital education and ICT access for students in Africa. Camara collects and sells equipment to trade in bulk, using the value of donated items to set up computer labs at schools in high-need communities with refurbished equipment, educational content, teacher professional development, and technical support. Our donation of 292 computer and IT resources valued at £16,602 impacted 2,590 students and supports our sustainability goals. Our partnership with Camara Education has delivered: 103,030 Kg of CO2 saved by reuse 49M+ Liters of water saved 491,600 Tons of Earth not mined 495 Kg diverted from landfills. Covid-19 recovery

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for evolution and acceleration through digital transformation to expedite organisational recovery. Future-proofing the NHS and other public sector industries through implementation of cornerstone digital tools like automation will deliver efficiencies, provide opportunities for economies of scale, and enable higher productivity. It will also support global sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) agendas, helping to balance inequalities and improve employee well-being. Back in March 2020, our team developed a digital automation for Northampton General Hospital at no charge, allowing them to monitor oxygen levels 24/7 during the pandemic. Because of the increase in demand driven by COVID-19, Northampton needed to ensure that they had constant, consistent, and accurate oxygen readings. The existing process required staff to manually log into a system and physically collect a reading from two tanks every six hours, which was about to shift to more frequent checks. With the pandemic increasing in intensity, the team at NGH knew that they needed to free up resources and increase data quality to provide the best quality patient care. Although there were no anticipated issues with the supply, in just 12 hours, and by working through the night, the Automation Anywhere team created an automatic process which allowed them to monitor the oxygen levels 24 hours a day without human intervention, and with 100% data accuracy. This enabled the hospital to repurpose over 1,500 hours of staff time over the course of the year. Since then, our work to support the NHS has scaled exponentially, saving trusts millions of pounds and hundreds of thousands of hours to support Covid-19 recovery. We provide free analysis for qualifying organisations to help them build the business case for change and invest thousands of hours per year to ensure public sector companies realise time and efficiency savings.

Tackling economic inequality

We believe reskilling for the future of work can help solve many of the world’s pressing challenges such as the widening wealth gap, the plight of 100K+ refugees seeking employment, and even lower productivity levels due to declining workforce numbers in the future. We are committed to empowering learners everywhere. Using our accessible curriculum, we’re training people to learn and deploy automation technology to meet rapidly changing work demands. As part of the reskilling revolution, we’re supercharging the skills of the global workforce and building a more equitable, inclusive future where everyone is prepared to take advantage of emerging careers. We believe our catalyst technology can be part of the foundation for a more equitable society, creating a diverse and accessible future of work for all. Tech for good solutions like intelligent automation enable nonprofit organizations and humanitarian agencies to connect more people with resources and disburse life essentials in a fast and efficient manner for real human impact. And, as part of Automation Anywhere's ongoing commitment to unleashing human potential, we’re closing the opportunity gap in partnership with the workforce development ecosystem. Automation Anywhere is committed to unleashing more human potential. Our curriculum and training program help create pathways to future-ready, tech-enabled jobs. Together with our global education and workforce development network we’re democratizing access to powerful automation technology. We can help empower learners with in-demand skills that produce economic mobility. We provide free, on-demand training through Automation Anywhere University, scholarships for our certification exams to gain industry-recognized credentials, and free licenses to our no-code/low-code platform to develop skills. We are proud of our work to tackle economic inequality, such as upskilling untapped talent in the Mississippi Delta with a RPA Center of Excellence, creating hope with new tech-enabled jobs.

Equal opportunity

Talent is everywhere but the opportunity to use it is not. We’re partnering with the workforce development ecosystem to close the opportunity gap and empower learners around the world with the digital skills needed to build tech-enabled career pathways. To date, we have created access to ICT education for 1,400 African students with donated computers for two new labs, training 700+ women and empowering new tech leaders in Africa to close the employment gap in the region and transition people into the digital economy. We formally launched the Social Impact Office in FY2022 and then joined the Pledge 1% alliance in FY2023 to scale the power of automation for global good. We are proud to work with industry leaders as part of this global movement and have committed product and time to impact 100 million humans. We also care about minority inclusion, and women are one of the largest underrepresented groups in technology. At Automation Anywhere women know they belong, are seen as equals, and have opportunities to reach their full potential. The Women’s Empowerment Circle brings women together to provide opportunities for networking, coaching, mentorship, career and personal development. We are helping women grow their voice and presence in and out of the company and develop and strengthen their own community. We have hosted over 10 events like meet-and-greet sessions with senior leaders and workshops on topics like career building and financial planning; sponsored unconscious bias training for all employees; supported 20+ women to attend technical and professional development conferences; and recognized nine female tech leaders in the #GoWomen social media campaign to extend our work throughout our ecosystem, drive visibility to their contributions, and inspire other women. Automation Anywhere's co-founder, Neeti Mehta Shukla, received the Women's Entrepreneurship Day Organization’s Technology Pioneer Award at the United Nations in 2022.

Wellbeing

We know our teammates have a life outside of work, and our 360-degree support helps everyone succeed and feel at home with Automation Anywhere. Based on local workplace culture and regulations, we provide benefits like paid time off, health care and life insurance where applicable, flexible work schedule, learning and development, equity program, and paid parental leave. We extend eligibility to participate in employee benefit plans to full-time and part-time teammates who regularly work 20+ hours per week. We strive to create the conditions for teammates to do their best work. In the past two years, we continued to focus on keeping employees healthy and supported from their physical health to psychological and social support through enhanced family and mental health care. We now offer free access to Ginger, an on-demand emotional support tool, and globally we have an Employee Assistance Program that is designed to promote mental wellness and access to counseling. In FY2023, we enhanced benefits to increase the total number of paid weeks off for parental leave and paid time off for bereavement leave. To fight burnout, reduce stress, and maintain focus we started two new initiatives around time for and beyond work. We implemented “No Meeting Fridays” to give everyone a time to do heads-down work without having to squeeze it in between meetings. The no-meeting days help us stay on track with limited to no interruptions. Additionally, we launched quarterly “Stress Free Days” for teammates to unplug and focus on themselves and their families. Teammates are encouraged to use this paid time off to recharge, do hobbies or passion projects, and share stories and photos of these activities with each other. We believe that time away from work is key to our teammates’ health and wellness, enabling them to continue performing at a high level.
