- What users can and can't do using the API
-
TimeEdit provides multiple API interfaces depending on the individual use-case and customer preference. At the lowest level, TimeEdit provides both a SOAP and REST API that - depending on authentication - provides access to both public and private data. These interfaces can either be accessed as is (via standard HTTP(S) calls), or through one of TimeEdit’s integration interfaces. The APIs accept xml as input and output formats, and - for certain calls - multipart form data in the form of e.g., CSV or xlsx.
All APIs enable full read / write access to the TE Server and database, depending on the privileges and permissions specified by the authentication. Generally speaking, the APIs allow the user full programmatic access to all of TimeEdit’s functionality.
TimeEdit provides comprehensive documentation - found at www.developer.timeedit.com - with 100% coverage of all its APIs and integration interfaces, in the form of online documentation, examples and Customer Success managers with API expertise. All APIs are owned and maintained by TimeEdit and TimeEdit follows standard release protocols and API versioning so as to avoid introducing breaking changes that would adversely impact existing integrations. - API documentation

Scaling
- Independence of resources
- TimeEdit can guarantee no slowdown or restrictions by having multiple users accessing the service at the same time. This is achieved through automatic scaling of server capacity, logical route backups, and failover management such as established redundancy and abstraction. This has led to our average up-time of 99.99%.

Fighting climate change
As an ever more pressing issue, combating climate change is a major priority for TimeEdit. Consequently, we act in accordance with ISO:14001:2015, and the Environment Act 2021. We provide staff with training which encourages behavioural environmentalism within the workplace. Further information regarding this can be found within our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.
TimeEdit’s remote friendly working environment has reduced our carbon footprint significantly though:
Reduction of emissions as many staff choose to work remotely regularly, and thus do not drive into work. This results in a reduction of greenhouse gases, which contributes to the fight against climate change;
Reduction of energy output for TimeEdit due to staff working off premises;
The amount of waste TimeEdit produces is minimised as many of our systems are now remote to facilitate online working, making us mostly paperless. Moreover, less staff in-house means less waste.
Further efforts we will take as a company to fight climate change include:
Utilising renewable energy responsibly to reduce carbon emissions;
Reducing single use plastic consumption within our offices using reminders on notice boards and posters, as well as environmental management strategies, disseminated to staff through their employee handbooks;
Organising recyclable waste properly and recycling all paper products, ink and toner cartridges.
In order to monitor compliance with our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and environmental efforts, we will monitor KPIs regularly. For example, we will aim to decrease the amount of waste taken to landfill and increase recycling year on year. To measure this, we will monitor the amount of waste taken to recycling units regularly. We will also employ the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) method to monitor and improve our sustainable processes when needed throughout this project. - Covid-19 recovery
-
Covid-19 recovery
As a company, TimeEdit is committed to encouraging Covid-19 recovery within the local and national community. This is reflected through our flexible working policy.
In the wake of lockdown, TimeEdit has made significant changes to the way we work. Ensuring that our employees can work flexibly to suit their lifestyle needs is key to this. TimeEdit operates a flexible work policy for all of our employees, working from home or in the office, at the times that are mutually best for them and the wider team. This ensured that we were able to stay operational during the pandemic, avoiding furloughing our staff. - Tackling economic inequality
-
Tackling economic inequality
TimeEdit is committed to tackling economic inequality. As a result we offer a range of further learning and training opportunities to our current employees and a range of recruitment opportunities across our in-house teams.
We offer an array of training within our company to ensure progression and further learning:
As a fast-growing company, we offer many opportunities to train and grow in-house. Personal development plans ensure staff are able to develop their careers through ongoing SMART targets and continuous training;
Our ‘never stop learning’ policy awards our employees £2,500 per year towards an extracurricular training programme of their choice.
Due to the multifaceted nature of our team, with three different in-house groups; product, customer and sales, we offer a wide range of recruitment opportunities at different levels. This ensures that we can take on a range of people from diverse backgrounds, with differing skills and experience. Whether an employee is an engineer, salesman or customer service expert, there is a place for them at TimeEdit.
We also offer a wide range of opportunities for young people, to give them the skills and experience needed to become a well-rounded team member. For example, we may partner with local colleges to offer apprenticeship opportunities. Thus, we are committed to tackle economic inequality by giving young people the skills they need to succeed. - Equal opportunity

Equal opportunity
Here at TimeEdit, we are committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion across the workplace and aim to demonstrate excellence in these areas. We provide equality, fairness and respect to every member of staff regardless of their role and aim for our workforce to be representative of all members of society.
TimeEdit recognises and accepts its statutory obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and the Human Rights Act 1998. Our Equal Opportunities Policy in respect of these aims to achieve equality by removing potential discrimination and gives staff confidence that employment decisions relating to recruitment, dismissal, redundancy, absence etc. will be fair decisions without discrimination by reason of a protected characteristic.
No member of staff or client will be discriminated against on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, gender reassignment, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, disability or age.
All staff must treat each other and the clients we liaise with in a respectful manner. Direct discrimination, indirect discrimination, victimisation, bullying and harassment are all prohibited.
Our staff must ensure that their conduct conforms to the expected standards of our policy. We take complaints about misconduct of equal opportunities and diversity extremely seriously, and such acts are dealt with as misconduct by the organisation. With extremely serious cases, this includes dismissal without notice.
This is enforced throughout employment, including recruitment. Our diversity and recruitment policies are updated and edited to ensure that they are up to date and relevant in accordance with legislation. Furthermore, to reduce the disability employment gap, we provide support for disabled workers such as work mentors and fully support them with time off for appointments, flexibility in work plans etc. to ensure that they thrive. - Wellbeing

Wellbeing
We understand how vital staff wellbeing is at TimeEdit for performance of work and general happiness and morale of employees. Our workplace Health and Wellbeing Policy promotes a progressive and healthy work environment for all of our staff and aims to keep staff motivated, focused and healthy in both a mental and physical capacity.
We have a range of company benefits that aim to promote health and wellbeing:
A healthy work/ life balance culture, with flexible hours of work and a remote friendly environment. We're scaling a company where people can build their work around their life, not the other way around;
A monthly stipend for a gym membership for all staff members;
Regular team building outings such as go karting, BBQ nights and curling, which encourage a culture of teamwork and collaboration and are provided feedback from;
A range of office and study spaces that suit employees’ specific needs of productivity. For instance, quiet focus rooms, collaborative rooms and standing desks.
We also understand how vital mental health needs are for our staff, whether it be work related mental health issues or other issues. We raise awareness of mental health and proactively work to challenge the stigma around workplace mental health. To do so, we provide access to proactive mental health support from our HR department, such as online counselling services and an anonymous messaging service. This support is advertised around the workplace both physically and online and is introduced to staff in the employee handbook at the start of their employment. Staff can seek support from any member of staff they feel comfortable with, including in-line managers and our HR manager.
Our extensive Health and Wellbeing Policy is reviewed by our HR department regularly to ensure that it effectively meets our aims and objectives.
