One Beyond's academy offering is a core part of how we support individuals in creating opportunities for those who face barriers in entering this industry; the accessibility of the course and diversity of the delegates was the driving factor in securing the supplier we use. The Learning and Development is also part of this, because it enables us to bring in hires at lower levels and provide them opportunities to grow; due to our bespoke nature and wide tech-stack, we have a number of avenues that our staff are able to grow into as well, providing not only “steps up” but also the ability to move laterally in their career. Another way in which we have historically created opportunities is through partnerships with colleges in work experience and apprenticeship (early careers) opportunities. The Company has also supported placement and graduate students into the world of work through partnership or work with local Universities.Equal opportunity

We have an established Learning and Development team who has implemented multiple avenues of learning including a dedicated LMS (Learning Management System) and online platform with learning materials. These platforms were chosen due to their ease of use for the end learners, and their multimedia opportunities, meaning they are neurodiverse-friendly too. Besides this, we work with the individual to create a personal development plan inclusive of company funded courses relevant to the progression that person desires. At One Beyond we have an established mental health support team in conjunction with a comprehensive EAP to support employees from everyday wellbeing to times of mental health crisis. Besides being diverse in terms of background and life experience, our Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) team is present in every location across the business, as well as across multiple departments to support at all levels. They offer one-to-one sessions, publicity internally for awareness days, and run monthly workshops, alongside monitoring mental and physical sickness days. We partner with SimplyHealth and Simpila on our offerings; SimplyHealth provides our EAP which is inclusive of a “Wellbeing Centre” offering legal advice, 24/7 GP and counselling services, and gym or fitness equipment discounts; Simpila are an MHFA England certified training provider who support our MHFA’s from first training, to upskilling, to providing a new ongoing support system and network. In order to stay ahead of the curve, we’re now looking to implement a Financial Wellbeing service with another external provider.
Our biggest focus with our MHFA and Wellbeing services is establishing this as part of the wider company culture. This began with writing and implementing a detailed Wellbeing Policy for the Group, and consistently championing the services across all platforms to ensure it gets visibility, and in turn, use. This is led by our Leadership and Board, who are equally as passionate about the service, as everyone across the Company.
