Planning

Planning service
Yes
How the planning service works
How the planning service works - The planning phase of any Egress engagement begins with a discovery phase, during which we work to understand the drivers and desired outcomes of a cloud based technology programme. Once we have documented and agreed requirements, we partner with our client to develop a roadmap which takes them from their current situation to a sustainable, long term solution which achieves the goals of the programme. This will likely include the definition of;
• Development of the Project Brief, PID
• Agreement of acceptance criteria
• Establishment of a robust process to enable plans to be updated on a rolling basis.
• Establishment of project controls with regular checkpoint and milestone based reviews
• Establishment if controls for reporting, finance, risks/issues management, governance etc
• Agreement of effective change control process
• Identification and structured management (and mitigation) of key risks

How the training service works
Inherent within our approach to programme delivery is our appreciation for the critical role end user adoption and change management play in the success of a programme, of which training is a core element. Our training capability encompasses full training lifecycle delivery and support from strategy development and TNA through to execution and evaluation. Emphasis is placed on both training and education using blended approaches which cater for a variety of needs. These services can be significantly enhanced by utilisation of our training tool (eTRN™). Our training upskills project team members through knowledge and skills transfer, and enables effective service transition and handover.

Setup and migration

Yes
How the setup or migration service works
Egress Advance efficiently and effectively manages and automates every aspect of end-to-end data migration requirements. The long list of activities, scripts and tasks that need to be run in the correct order is tightly controlled, from running extract routines against the legacy system, through applying mapping and transformation rules, to producing load files and validation/data cleansing reports. The solution can be applied to any source and target system with repeatability, quality and consistency guaranteed by tried and tested scripts and code. It can be used for complete, end-to-end data migration delivery, with the flexibility to also run individual elements of the process in isolation, e.g., to produce a specific load file or re-run validation following the revision of lookup values.

Fighting climate change

Egress is committed to working remotely on customer projects to reduce the impact of our working practices on the environment. All Egress staff are now working remotely full time, reducing the need for commuting to the office, thus helping protect the environment and reducing our carbon emissions. We have a published Net Zero Commitment on our website and have completed a Carbon Reduction Plan which details the steps we will take to achieve Net Zero.
We ensure all service reviews are conducted remotely thereby limiting carbon emissions within our customers’ local area. Company systems are digitised, and we are a paperless organisation. We promote the use of public transport where face to face meetings are essential and encourage car sharing where public transport may not be an option. Egress promotes and offers to all staff, the use of a salary sacrifice scheme to enable access to Electric vehicles.
Additional operational activities which fight climate change are the fact that we have migrated off the servers to the Cloud for our data storage, which has reduced the need to maintain an office with an air-controlled atmosphere for 2 large physical servers. As well as this we have recycled/rehomed all redundant office furniture via freecycle to save them going to landfill. All old paper records have been confidentially shredded and recycled. Egress plans to invest in tree planting schemes, both globally and in the UK, to further offset CO2 emissions.

Covid-19 recovery

At the start of the pandemic all Egress staff worked from home. This proved successful and beneficial for all and as a result Egress offers a fully remote working option with no requirement for regular office attendance. This will continue for the long term and will provide employment options for individuals who may be (or who may have family members who are) clinically vulnerable to Covid 19 and who may prefer to remain more shielded. In turn, this will support the NHS to implement more efficient systems to help reduce the backlog, which has increased because of Covid 19.

Tackling economic inequality

Our apprenticeship scheme operates seamlessly through remote delivery, eliminating the need for travel. Furthermore, we understand the importance of personalised development pathways. That's why we offer tailored discussions with individuals instantly to talk over their needs and wants. We recognise that each person's journey is unique, so we customise the development they want with the delivery method that suits them best. Whether it's one-on-one mentorship, group workshops, or virtual training sessions, we ensure that individuals have the flexibility to shape their learning experience according to their preferences, abilities, and goals.
Egress has employed 2 apprentices, in Finance and Software Development, supporting them through their training and certification process and have since offered both employees full time positions with the company. Egress is looking to offer apprenticeships in other areas across the organisation.

Equal opportunity

In our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, Egress empowers individuals of varying abilities by providing personalised comprehensive support, tools, and cutting-edge technology tailored to diverse needs, including challenges related to hearing, vision, mobility, and cognition. Our collaborative environment fosters open dialogue, ensuring equal access to opportunities for personal and professional development. We offer resources like specialised courses such as "Unconscious Bias" and "Thriving Together" to bolster understanding and embrace our inclusive culture.
Egress extends its focus on equality and diversity beyond recruitment training by selecting recruiters aligned with equality and diversity policies. This method reflects our all-inclusive approach to diversity and inclusion, permeating every aspect of our organisational culture and operations.
Our dedication to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusivity extends to our management teams, who receive specialised training to champion diversity and inclusivity. Through collaboration with CPD accredited third-party training providers, we ensure the highest standards of excellence and relevance in any training we provide. This cultivates a community of ambassadors and advocates dedicated to supporting colleagues facing mental health challenges. Our training programs provide practical guidance on fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace in and out of the office.

Wellbeing

Egress takes the health and wellbeing of all staff very seriously and aims to promote a culture where issues can be raised with no fear of reprisals or discrimination. Egress has a fully trained Mental Health first aider who is always available if needed. We offer complete healthcare access, offering real-life counselling with qualified practitioners and digital tools for mental, physical, and financial wellness. Platforms like Headspace, Calm, and Fiit empower our community to cultivate resilience and balance. Egress also offer an EAP as well as private health insurance enabling access to Talk Therapy and Dr at Hand for consultations. All staff are entitled to 2 hours flexible working/week for wellbeing time and are encouraged to utilise this. We provide each employee an optional paid days leave to volunteer within the community and to ‘give back’. This may be chosen by individuals and may include things such as volunteering with a local charity, providing mentor support to voluntary organisations as appropriate, helping with a community sponsored event. Regular departmental and company meetings foster an atmosphere of collaboration and inclusion.
