- How the planning service works
-
The service include the robust appraisal of different delivery options for your project. Depending on the case stage, the team can facilitate workshops to develop high level implementation approaches, can cost more detailed delivery options or can develop more complex cost models to consider different implementation scenarios for an already selected option.
For the selected option, the team can facilitate planning and scheduling of delivery with the project team or delivery partner, including the prioritisation of a delivery backlog, the breakdown of work into a defined methodology and the forecasting of delivery cadence accounting for risk.
With either an outline or more detailed implementation plan, the team can develop benefits models to forecast the realisation of benefit in line with delivery milestones, including the consideration of different scenarios and multi-point estimates of modelled parameters where required.
The team can consider the role of optimism bias and risk in an implementation plan, modelling risk scenarios with associated impacts to cost, schedule and quality of the delivered service. The team can calculate optimism bias to cover residual uncertainty and to more accurately forecast the eventual whole life cost of the implementation.
The team can also model ongoing run costs post-implementation. - Planning service works with specific services
