Social Value
Tackling economic inequalityTackling economic inequality
"Our approach to ensuring local community benefits from Intelligent Automation (IA) projects is multifaceted and includes economic, social and environmental aspects. Economic benefits include upskilling staff within the approved organisation through training and workshops in IA and reducing the likelihood of future services being outsourced to businesses outside the region. We also prioritise supporting local small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the area around our headquarters. We invest in local people by establishing close ties with local educational institutions and offering apprenticeship opportunities to young people in the area.
On the social aspect, we actively engage in fundraising and promoting awareness for charitable organisations that align with the approved organisation's existing social value provision. We also pride ourselves on the intrinsic social value that IA provides and have offered our services at cost in the past to non-profit organisations such as Britten Pears Arts and Christie NHS Foundation Cancer charity.
From an environmental standpoint, we encourage home working for staff to reduce miles driven and carbon emissions. We also promote a cycle to work scheme and car sharing initiative, carry out virtual meetings, and have transitioned into a paperless office. We use state-of-the-art equipment that helps reduce energy usage, engage with local businesses to provide services to reduce travel-related carbon emissions and have implemented office insulation, light timer switches, and a smart thermostat to minimize electricity usage. Our social value efforts are closely monitored by our Co-Founder Phil Lewis and reported regularly to ensure alignment with contract KPIs."
