Covid-19 recovery
With more employees working remotely post Covid, the attack surface in organisations has become larger. In addition to the acceleration of Cloud implementations, there are more endpoint devices, networking connections and software to secure, all of which greatly increase the workload for security staffs, who have limited or no oversight of how remote workers handle data. This coupled with increased susceptibility to phishing and other social engineering attacks.
SANS training, specifically the Cloud curriculum and security awareness programmes, mitigate against these risks.Equal opportunity
SANS is committed to equality and opportunity in, and through, education. One of our Directors was seconded to the Cyber Security Council Formation Team, sitting on the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group. He is also a careers/UCAS advisor to the Social Mobility Foundation and as a STEM Ambassador to local schools.
Internally, we strongly believe in creating an environment where everyone feels respected, appreciated, and included. We expect all employees to respect and embrace the unique perspectives, backgrounds, and ideas that each team member contributes. Discrimination, harassment, or any form of mistreatment based on factors such as race, gender, age, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic is strictly prohibited.
Our commitment to diversity and inclusion extends to promoting
equal opportunities for all employees. We strive to create an
environment where diversity is celebrated, and individuals are
supported in reaching their full potential.
Our service provision directly addresses the social value theme by offering tailored cybersecurity training programmes designed to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from economically disadvantaged communities. Through initiatives such as our hardship fund and scholarship programmes, we remove financial barriers to participation, enabling individuals to reskill and access opportunities in the thriving cybersecurity industry. Our commitment to equal opportunity is demonstrated by the creation of women-only cohorts and tailored interventions to address the unique needs of underrepresented groups, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Furthermore, our cybersecurity training programmes contribute to economic equality by equipping participants with in-demand skills that lead to well-paid roles, thus enhancing their economic prospects. By actively engaging with local communities and organisations, we ensure our training opportunities are accessible to geographically diverse populations, thereby promoting economic empowerment and addressing regional disparities.Wellbeing
In addition to economic benefits, our programmes promote well-being by offering ongoing support and mentorship, fostering a sense of belonging and community among participants. Success stories highlight the transformative impact of our training on individuals’ lives, enhancing their professional fulfillment and overall well-being. As we continue to evolve and adapt our programmes, we remain dedicated to delivering social value by fostering equal opportunity, economic empowerment, and well-being in the post-pandemic landscape.
