- How the planning service works

MTI has experienced Cloud experts on hand to help design the underlying infrastructure and support migration of applications and workloads to the new platform. This service is designed to accelerate transformation and minimise risk.
The service is split in to two clearly defined stages; Cloud Design and Cloud Migration. These services are not mutually exclusive.
●Cloud Design & Implementation service:
On completion of a Cloud Readiness Assessment, MTI will carry out a detailed IaaS platform design. This will use the detailed output from the readiness assessment report to build the foundation of the solution.
Typical components included in the design phase will include:
●Virtual network topology design
●Platform location and availability
●Platform scaling
●Storage design
●Security
●And more
●Cloud Migration:
This service focuses on helping to define a clear technology pathway for migration and identifies potential dependencies and blockers that influence the migration itself or require remediation to ensure a successful project. MTI will help plan, configure and test each application and workload.
This Service Includes:
●Migration planning and strategy session
●Set up and run relevant tools and batches
●Identify and assist with remediation tasks
●Assistance with migration of applications and workloads
●Testing of migrated workloads - Planning service works with specific services

- How the setup or migration service works
-
The aim of the plan is simply to provide a list of all tasks that need to be completed and the order that they must be completed.
Once the underlying cloud infrastructure has been implemented, the final phase in any cloud migration project is to start the actual migration of workloads.
Before carrying out any migration, the first step is to create a migration plan. A large part of this step is to review the results from your readiness assessment to enable you to plan the order that work must be carried out.
This will include planning any remediation work, confirming which workloads can be easily moved, and which will be more difficult. Again, a readiness assessment will provide you with all the details needed for this.
You should also identify/confirm any specific test criteria. Some workloads may require minimal testing before full migration. Others may need an extended pilot phase depending on complexity and business criticality.
Again, use the migration planning stage to confirm who should be involved in any testing and agree what constitutes success and failure for each workload to be migrated. - Setup or migration service is for specific cloud services
