- End-of-contract data extraction
-
Buyers can request export of their Dragon Professional Anywhere user data at the end of the contract. This includes custom vocabularies, user-specific settings and AutoTexts.
Dragon Professional Anywhere does not store full documents; it only processes speech-to-text at the point of dictation. Therefore, there are no narrative documents or patient records held within the service for extraction.
Once the buyer confirms that data extraction is complete, Nuance follows its ISO 27018-aligned process to securely delete remaining tenant data from the platform. - End-of-contract process
-
When the contract ends, user access to Dragon Professional Anywhere is disabled and accounts are deleted. There is normally no requirement for data extraction, as Dragon Professional Anywhere transcribes speech directly into the buyer’s clinical or administrative systems. All recognised text is stored within the organisation’s own applications and not within Dragon Professional Anywhere.
Dragon Professional Anywhere holds only limited user-specific data such as vocabulary additions or AutoTexts. If a buyer wishes to export these, VoicePower can request this from Nuance prior to account deletion.
Once the buyer confirms off-boarding is complete, Nuance securely deletes any remaining tenant data in line with ISO 27018 data-retention and sanitisation processes. - Documentation accessibility standard

All permitted customisation is completed through the DPA client interface or the Nuance Management Center and does not require programming or API access.
Scaling
- Independence of resources
- Dragon Professional Anywhere is a multi-tenant SaaS platform operated by Nuance on Microsoft Azure. The service uses automatic scaling, load balancing and elastic resource allocation so that one customer’s usage does not affect another’s performance. Tenant environments are isolated, and additional compute capacity is provisioned automatically during periods of high demand. Nuance continuously monitors system load to maintain stable and consistent performance. VoicePower provides first-line support, while all performance management is handled by Nuance.

Availability and resilience
- Guaranteed availability
-
Dragon Professional Anywhere is hosted by Nuance on Microsoft Azure UK and provides a guaranteed platform availability of 99.5% uptime, excluding planned maintenance. Nuance monitors the service continuously and uses redundant Azure availability zones to maintain uptime and minimise disruption.
If the platform does not meet the guaranteed availability level, buyers may receive service credits in line with Nuance’s service terms, applied to future billing. These credits are the sole remedy for any availability shortfall.
VoicePower provides first-line support and escalates availability incidents directly to Nuance. Availability performance is managed entirely by Nuance and Microsoft Azure. - Approach to resilience
- Dragon Professional Anywhere is hosted by Nuance on Microsoft Azure UK, which provides built-in resilience through redundant infrastructure, multiple availability zones, load balancing and automatic scaling. Azure’s datacentres use diverse power, networking and fault-tolerant systems to minimise downtime. If a component fails, services automatically fail over to healthy resources. Nuance manages application-level resilience and disaster recovery within the Azure environment.
- Outage reporting
-
Outages for Dragon Professional Anywhere are reported through Nuance’s service status channels. Nuance issues email alerts to subscribed contacts and to VoicePower, who then notify affected buyers. Planned maintenance and service advisories are also communicated by email in advance.
Dragon Professional Anywhere does not provide a public dashboard or API for outage reporting. VoicePower manages customer communication during any incident and escalates issues directly to Nuance.
