How the planning service works
Avantis supports our customers plan and implement cloud hosting or software systems and services.
We help organisations define their vision, scope, and strategic goals, for the cloud service, analysing the user and business needs and develop robust User and System Requirements. We use best practice planning methodologies to define the activities to be undertaken, logically linking and time phasing these to develop a baseline plan. The baselines are subsequently used to measure and monitor performance and actively managed through our RAIDO and costs control processes.
We have significant experience of delivering planning and project controls to complex digital programmes, we will use this experience in the delivery of your projects to ensure the successful delivery of our outcomes.

As a dedicated learning and development organisation, we have significant experience in developing and delivering bespoke training to a varied portfolio of clients across various market sectors. Training is delivered by our inhouse Learning & Development (L&D) Consultancy team.
Our L&D team have delivered Risk & Planning graduate programme for a MOD client and delivered career pathways for project delivery, engineering and logistics competencies.
We work with the clients Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop a range of targeted training outcomes, course content, coaching, mentoring interventions and delivery methods.

We provide informal training in the form of mentoring, Coaching, upskilling and knowledge transfer. This ensures that the best practice methods applied during the delivery of our service are adopted by the customer, so key skills and knowledge are retained.

How the setup or migration service works
Avantis supports customers setting up and migrating to or between cloud hosting or software systems and services.
We initially support you by identifying and analysing the needs of your users. We document these requirements, providing enough detailed to define the type of cloud system that fulfils the need.
Our decision support capability supports you to decide which cloud options meet your needs and determine which is the best value for money option.
After selecting the preferred cloud supplier, we start planning and implementing the migration to the new supplier. Using an agile and iterative approach we plan and implement the most effective way to migrate your services whilst minimising impact to live service.
We develop Integrated Test, Evaluation and Acceptance strategy and plans to undertake comprehensive testing and evaluation before formal acceptance, paving the way to realising the business case benefits of the new technologies.
We maintain and manage schedules, managing risk and dependencies, and monitor performance against established baselines.

How the quality assurance and performance testing works
Avantis is ISO 9001: 2015 certified, we will use our Quality Management System (QMS) to define the quality standards assigned to each contract, track, test and measure key delivery/performance metrics and provide rectification should non-conformances be identified.
For each engagement, and utilising our significant experience in delivering client outcomes, we will:
- undertake an engagement initiation meeting
- plan and delivery monthly delivery governance reviews, where monthly deliverables are reviewed and jointly approved; and
- Undertake risk reviews to identify, log and manage risks to our delivery
This will provide each customer the assurance that each contract will be delivered to quality standard.

For each GCloud service procured, Avantis will provide an Account Manager to lead each contract. The account manager will provide telephone and email support and will reply within 24 hours of receipt of support request. This service will be available from 0900hrs to 1700hrs Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

At Avantis we encourage low-carbon commuting using public transport and car sharing where possible. As a business we are continuously reviewing how we can reduce our carbon footprint.
We have established an annual green campaign where we encourage all our staff to take part in, we ask them which environmental targets they care about most and if practicable create a scheme to hit these goals. Our campaign is created each December and rolled out the following year.
Energy performance is at the heart of our buying decisions, and we will monitor modern technology efficiencies and ensure that the team has suitable IT equipment to do their work. We commit to recycling old equipment, extending the use of assets.
