Our Equalities Policy, which is owned by the Board of Directors and annually reviewed and updated, sets out our commitment to ensure that no form of direct or indirect discrimination, victimisation, or harassment takes place within the conduct of our own business or in delivery of services which we provide to our customers. In addition, although we are not required to by the Modern Slavery Act, we have voluntarily adopted and published on our website a Modern Slavery Statement setting out our commitment to ensure that human trafficking and modern slavery are not taking place within any part of our organisation or supply chain. We have a strong record of recruiting diverse personnel in both back-office and on-site delivery roles. In the last 24-months 35% of our new hires have been female (almost double the estimated female representation in the UK IT workforce of 19%) and 22% have been Non-White (3 pp. higher than the estimated 19% of UK IT workforce who are BAME). We plan to continue to our progress on creating a diverse workforce in future by activities including: continuing to gather and review diversity data; promoting technology industry jobs to under-represented groups, such as women and the neuro-diverse; and targeted recruitment activities, such as peer-referral schemes which encourage BAME staff to promote us as an employer to their professional networks.

Wellbeing

Through delivery of our G-Cloud services bedigital will maintain our established commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of our employees and associates, as well as contributing positively to the wellbeing of our community. As is our established practice, all our staff (back office and delivery), as well as sub-contractors placed onsite with customers, receive at induction an employee pack including our policies on managing stress at work, sickness absence, and grievance reporting. We use a system of buddying to ensure staff and subcontractors are supported when delivering onsite engagements, as well as having open access to a named director responsible for each engagement. In the last 12 months we have introduced a staff wellbeing package offering confidential independent support to staff who wish to engage. We have also introduced the staff "Mental Health Hour", a flexible one hour slot each week which staff can block out in their diary for activities which promote wellbeing (e.g. taking a walk outside). Additional recent activities supporting health and wellbeing in our community include regular annual contributions to our local food bank at the Christmas period.
