We begin with an initial cost assessment, including analysis using automated tooling to establish a baseline and identify potential problem areas.
We confirm a shared understanding of the project scope, initial findings, and opportunity longlist/shortlist. Also identifying constraints, measures of success and communications strategies.
Team-level enquiry will provide added detail and help develop a full picture of cost-saving opportunities. Review of plans with stakeholders ensures a plan and backlog of changes that has buy-in and achieves results.
Using this detail we identify necessary guardrails, transparency, and governance to deliver results.

The outcomes sessions are documented and then played back at a showcase to validate the decisions.

Based on your service's specific needs, we can help you select an appropriate cloud provider. We can review software and infrastructure architecture as well as codebase health to advise on an appropriate approach to migration, in addition to any architectural changes needed to meet your individual functional and non-functional (such as scalability, security and reliability) requirements.
Typically we do not endorse a "lift and shift" of systems as-is into the cloud. Rather, we will help you develop a cloud native architecture which will better suit deployment to the cloud based infrastructure. For example, using the right services in the cloud can help reduce licensing costs, run costs, TCO and time to release software. In addition we can help you adjust your custom services to better suit cloud deployment - for example by repackaging them or improving their scalability, operability and observability.
For migration, we typically endorse mitigating the risk of moving systems by designing gradual migrations and avoiding "big-bang" cutovers. We will help you plan and execute these migration steps, all whilst ensuring you continue to offer service to your customers and reduce risk.
