Veran is well-known in the public sector for delivering rigour, structure and high quality through our 7S™ Methodology. This tried and tested approach guides organisations through 7 clearly defined steps, starting with the customer or end user who is at the heart of any transformation. It delivers success for Day 1, whilst establishing the structures and behaviours for continuous improvement.
Veran's 7S™ draws on our 12 years' experience of leading cloud-enabled digital transformation programmes across some of the largest and most complex Government departments and agencies. We avoid common mistakes and risks; use very targeted workshops to quickly deliver important decisions and deliverables needed for a successful project; and recommendations are aligned to Civil Service Best Practice. Our implementation approach is underpinned by a strong and pragmatic governance, which encourages agile decision making and alignment.
Our experienced Programme and Project Leads will work with you and any required third parties, to tailor these tried and tested plans around your organisation's objectives, constraints and timelines. Our plans are fully integrated, both in terms of the various workstreams required to deliver the project, but also in terms of the key activities, dependencies and resources required from the client organisation - Planning service works with specific services

- How the training service works
- Our approach to training is that it needs to be based on persona-needs within the context of the day job and provided on a 'just in time' basis. This brings about a better level of end-user engagement and understanding on an ongoing basis, not just for go-live. For this service, we support you to enable internal capability within the Oracle support team in particular, so that a greater level of self-sufficiency is achieved. In line with our standard training services, we also provide training to various stakeholders and end users relevant by Oracle module (e.g., HCM, Payroll, Procurement, Finance) or by service interaction. Training services include Training Strategy & Approach; Training Needs Analysis; Training Planning; Training Content; Training Delivery (Super User / End-User / Admin User). Our Change and Training approach is integrated into the core project team from the outset and delivers at 3 tiers: strategic, behavioural and knowledge-based.

- How the setup or migration service works
-
Cloud implementations and migrations can over-run and exceed initial budget expectations. This is often due to the fact that organisations are unaware of the dependencies and activities that they need to undertake as part of a standard Cloud project.
Veran's service provides access to experienced Cloud transformation professionals, who can integrate into your team and mitigate the risk of project delay. This is achieved by ensuring a robust business case has been created; supporting with all the readiness and mobilisation activities; hand-holding client teams across project workstreams (Solution Design; Data; Testing; Integrations; Change & Adoption; Cutover); building and testing your Oracle configuration and ensuring a healthy governance is operational throughout the project.
Our methodology for Cloud migration encourages organisations to understand how to get the most from investment being made in Cloud technology, both on Day 1 and beyond. It provides colleagues with the opportunity to upskill during the project and be self-sufficient once the Oracle solution is live. - Setup or migration service is for specific cloud services

- How the quality assurance and performance testing works
-
Our Oracle Health Check and Optimisation assumes that at least one module of Oracle has already been deployed and that performance testing would have been undertaken as part of that initial deployment. If further performance testing is required as part of Optimisation, this would be built into the plan upfront.
Quality Assurance is built into the service components described, as it covers the quality of the design; foundational data structures; configuration, as well as the non-platform aspects such as policy standardisation, operating model, change management and benefits realisation.

Tackling economic inequality
Veran is a SME consultancy which has grown over the past ten years and created job opportunities for over 200 people, including many graduates. On the same day we founded Veran, we set up a not-for-profit HR & Finance network which now supports 20,000 professionals through free events, seminars and workshops, to help develop the HR and Finance profession, match jobseekers with employers, and upskill people from a diverse range of backgrounds, to be employable in HR and Finance. Over the past 10 years, we have helped more than 30 people to find a job through our network.
Furthermore HR and Finance technology and transformation are high growth sectors. Veran’s success in Central Government allows us to continue growing at rapid speed, with ambitions to double in size over the next 18-24 months. This means offering new jobs for 100+ people in the next 2 years. Our methodologies which have been tailored to hybrid working allow us to hire from a wider geographical base, and those who are not mobile to travel into work or those who are shielding. We also provide excellent training for people of all economic backgrounds, from school or higher education through internships, most of whom become permanent employees.
We fund ten days of training for every one of our employees, helping them gain qualifications and certifications in Project Management, Organisational Design, Change Management, and technology design and development. We also support our clients to design their Training Strategies and Plans so that during our projects, people in our client organisations are learning about Programme and Project Management, Process Optimisation, Embedding Change, Effective Communication, and Best Practice for HR and Finance.Wellbeing
At Veran we take the health and wellbeing of all our staff, colleagues and clients seriously. We operate a number of initiatives to promote not just the physical health but also the mental wellbeing of our people. Our purpose in doing this is to ensure that everyone working at Veran has access to the support, tools and advice they need to manage their health and wellbeing.
To support physical health we offer all permanent staff fully funded private medical insurance and critical illness insurance. We have consciously chosen to contract our private medical with Vitality as their service offering is more rounded to total health. We also organise tournaments such as tennis and netball regularly. For those who cannot travel to take part in tournaments, we also ensure we offer challenges that everyone can take part in regardless of location, such as Virgin Pulse (previously Global Corporate Challenge).
To support our people in managing their mental health we have created a rounded approach. We acknowledge that for many of our workforce who work remotely staying connected is a key factor in managing their mental health. As such we provide; weekly newsletters, monthly all-company calls, bi-annual in-person development days, regular manager 1-2-1s and a weekly anonymous pulse survey. We also offer our people the opportunity to be a mentor or have a mentor. We have also partnered with OnHand who match our people with volunteering opportunities in their local communities. This is in addition to having two mental health first aiders in the organisation and actively promoting mental health awareness, including through an awareness week, Employee Assistance Programme, etc.
We also offer financial education support to our employees with a financial advisor running bi-annual drop-in sessions for our people.
