- How the planning service works
-
We help buyers plan cloud hosting or software service implementation through collaborative workshops and sprint planning sessions. The workshops align stakeholders on requirements, existing constraints, non-functional needs, SLAs, architecture, patterns, coding standards, and documentation.
Key activities include:
Gathering requirements and aligning with existing solutions/platforms
Reviewing proposed architecture and design
Defining "Definition of Done" and coding standards
Establishing technical documentation requirements
Sprint planning covers:
Translating requirements into a prioritised backlog
Mapping dependencies (internal and cross-team)
Agreeing on acceptance criteria per feature
Assessing team capacity and velocity
Allocating backlog items to self-organising teams
Throughout planning, we maintain an iterative, transparent approach. Open communication with stakeholders ensures continuous alignment on implementation details. Our structured process establishes a solid foundation for successful cloud or software service delivery, meeting business and technical needs efficiently. - Planning service works with specific services

- How the quality assurance and performance testing works
-
As a first step, we review the customer's specifications and desired outcomes in depth to fully understand the criteria for "what good looks like". This involves analysing any documentation, requirements, use cases, or examples provided.
Next, we work with the buyer to develop a comprehensive test plan that covers all key functionality, performance metrics, edge cases, and other areas that need validation. This could include:
Functional testing of core features against acceptance criteria
Usability testing with potential end-users
Security testing for vulnerabilities and compliance
Compatibility testing across different environments/platforms
Data quality testing to validate outputs
We then execute this test plan, leveraging our skills in analysis, task automation, and programming as needed. We can automate many test cases, monitor performance metrics, and rigorously document all findings.
Throughout this process, we maintain close communication with the buyer. We provide real-time feedback on testing status, surface any issues promptly, and make recommendations for remediation or optimisation.
Lastly, we help consolidate test results into a clear report that shows how the solution met or diverged from the buyer's specified requirements and quality thresholds.
Overall, our goal is to provide an objective, data-driven assessment of quality and performance from an end-user perspective.

Fighting climate change
At Evolution, we have embedded sustainability into the core of our business strategy and operations. We were recently awarded the Green Mark Level 1 accreditation for our commitment and, building upon this momentum, we are actively pursuing Green Mark Level 2.
We implemented an improvement action plan for our work towards Level 2 and have achieved key environmental milestones through remote working policies, digitisation of processes, sustainable corporate travel, renewable energy procurement, responsible resource usage and more.
We also maintain a live Carbon Reduction Plan that outlines our path to becoming a net zero organisation by 2040. Our sustainability commitments extend into our hiring and procurement through green contractor criteria and partnerships with like-minded sustainable suppliers.Covid-19 recovery
Evolution Recruitment Solutions actively support the Covid-19 recovery through the supply of new opportunities in high growth areas (specifically technology). Evolution's NHS team works solely to supply the NHS with the resource it needs for digital transformation and the modernisation of systems. Through this supply of technical resource, Evolution is supporting the public sector to deliver new ways of working.Tackling economic inequality
Technology and digital transformation projects provide job opportunities in a high growth area, as well as vast training opportunities for existing staff. Evolution Recruitment Solutions support the tackling of economic inequality through the delivery of contracts which provide employment and skills in these areas. Through Evolution’s podcast and other content, we work to highlight the many pathways into technology and encourage those from a range of backgrounds, including the disadvantaged, to the sector. Supplying at the very forefront of the industry, we support innovative and disruptive technologies delivering higher quality services and increasing productivity.Equal opportunity
Evolution Recruitment Solutions are committed to equal opportunity for all. Our in-house training team provide ongoing diversity training and coaching that follow diversity best practice as outlined by both REC and APSCO. We are signed up to both REC’s Diversity Pledge 2013 and APSCO’s Diversity Commitment. We actively support increased representation across the workforce, and use our community content (https://evolutionjobs.com/exchange/?keyword=&country=nhs&category=) to highlight and celebrate diversity across the public sector.Wellbeing
Mental health and well-being are also extremely important to us. Internally, our staff policies include access to health and well-being webinars, on topics such as Dealing with Uncertainty, Alcohol Awareness and Supporting Your Mental Health, flexible working and much more.
We were recognised as the first ever Platinum Investors in People in 2016, showing our dedication to investing in our staff and creating an environment where they can develop and thrive. Our training is in-depth and tailored to each individual, setting each of our consultants up for success.
We take our responsibility for our employees’ mental health and well-being very seriously, and reflect these values in our work with suppliers, customers, and communities. Our policy to contact placed contractors on a weekly basis means that we can support their mental health and well-being. Any issues can be resolved quickly and compassionately, thanks to the communication training that all of our staff undergo. The relationship between consultant, contractor and customer is key to this, and the trust developed means that we can have open conversations wherever necessary to resolve any issues.
