Thoughtworks provides a 3 phase approach to Cloud strategy, each having several key components:
Envision > Design > Operate & Operationalise.
During Envision, Thoughtworks will help co-create the business case with an innovation and value driven roadmap. Key decisions will be driven out such as selecting the right CSPs or hybrid mix. Cloud Centre of Excellence will be shaped to accompany a refreshed target operating model.
During Design, Thoughtworks will help you discover and rationalise your application portfolio by assessing workload patterns and plausible modernisation targets. Target cloud architecture will be defined or validated with your architecture group. Security, Risk and Control departments will be engaged and integration points evaluated and assessed.
Finally the strategy will be operationalised and optimised, involving automation and innovation planning, cost optimisation, sustainable+green cloud review, and cloud compliance. - Planning service works with specific services

Collaboration is key to the way we work and through partnering with you and ensuring knowledge transfer is part of daily delivery activity we enable our client’s teams to build their own capability and skills.
Your team members will be paired up with Thoughtworks team members in similar roles. This allows them to benefit from shared experience and domain knowledge in a positive environment where they can ask questions and learn on the job.
This collaborative learning can be supported and supplemented through formal and informal methods where applicable. These can include workshops, literature and “bite size” zoom sessions.

This service begins with a discovery phase, which varies in length depending on organisational complexity, but is usually 2 to 6 weeks.
This may include understanding the current estate, assessing capabilities, and considering candidate projects for a pilot phase.
Following this, findings and recommendations will be shared, a roadmap agreed and a high level architecture designed.
Solutions are defined and agreed, along with tooling required and delivery approach. Our Quality Analysts participate in collaborative, cross-functional teams. They are part of the development process from the beginning, analysing requirements, encouraging a testing mindset during development where teams understand how best to test their work, highlighting risks early, assuring quality by testing throughout development and monitoring once in production.
Beyond the usual functional quality assurance, we can conduct performance testing (often coupled with zero downtime tests), security testing, data migration testing and operational testing.
Based on your non-functional requirements we could help you build the appropriate tests to help assure that your service is behaving as it should. Finally, we ensure services and systems are highly observable and well monitored in order that any uncaught or operational issues can be detected in the live service.
