Premise also prioritizes security awareness and education, and collaboration with different teams to improve its security posture.
Operational security
- Configuration and change management standard
- Supplier-defined controls
- Configuration and change management approach
- Configuration and change management capabilities track the status, location, and configuration of service components and assessment of potential security impacts on the service. This is done by having code security tools when code is committed, vulnerability and infrastructure scanners to catch things in dev/qa, and review cycles to verify components are secure.
- Vulnerability management type
- Conforms to a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v3.0 or SSAE-16 / ISAE 3402
- Vulnerability management approach
- Threats are assessed based off of security tooling, threat intelligence, and pen testing. High severity finding are prioritized and zero-day vulnerabilities are patched immediately. Premise uses information-sharing organizations, threat intel feeds, open source/news, and its security tooling to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
- Protective monitoring type
- Conforms to a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v3.0 or SSAE-16 / ISAE 3402
- Protective monitoring approach
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) maintains a security monitoring programs that detects and monitors for common vulnerabilities, including cross-site- scripting (XSS), flash injection, mixed content (HTTP and HTTPS), and outdated/insecure libraries. Their process enables early identification and delivery of very low rates of false positives to Premise. Premise uses EndorLabs for code security and SentinelOne for computer AV/EDR to protect against its environment.
- Incident management type
- Conforms to a recognised standard, for example, CSA CCM v3.0 or ISO/IEC 27035:2011 or SSAE-16 / ISAE 3402
- Incident management approach
- Premise has an Information Security team and has a documented Incident Response Plan based on industry best practices such as CISA and NIST 800-61 Rev2. The IRP and associated policies define security events vs incidents. Security incidents require a full investigation and are documented with incident reports and after-action plans. Incidents are detected through security tools, identified by threat hunting, or reported by users (via our security intake platform). Premise also has preventative and detection controls to protect against threats and vulnerabilities. Premise utilizes EDR/AV, vulnerability scanners, SIEM, and security configuration tools to help protect its environment.
