Onboarding and offboarding
- Getting started
- We help users start using the Remote Sensor Management service through a structured onboarding process that includes device provisioning, secure connectivity setup, and operational validation. We provision sensors with unique identities and cryptographic keys, configure the cloud backend and mission endpoints, and establish secure data ingress and control channels—using Cloudflare services and the MASQUE protocol where appropriate to minimise detection risk and improve resilience. We then run an initial settling-in period to validate connectivity, duty-cycle profiles, alerting behaviour, and data delivery across the available bearers (RF, 3G/4G, SAT), making adjustments to optimise performance and low-signature operation. Users are supported throughout onboarding with clear documentation, templates, and assisted commissioning so they can confidently deploy and manage sensors in the field.

- As the Remote Sensor Management service does not store customer data, there is no data export requirement at contract end. All sensor outputs and operational data are delivered directly to customer-controlled destinations (e.g., customer systems, storage, or analytics platforms) as part of normal service operation, and customers retain full ownership and control of that data throughout. At offboarding, we provide confirmation of decommissioning, revoke credentials and device access, and remove any customer-specific configurations, keys, or routing rules from the service in accordance with agreed security procedures. Where required, we can supply an auditable record of configuration and access revocation as evidence of secure closure.
- End-of-contract process
- At the end of the contract, the client is notified in advance to confirm whether they wish to renew or terminate the service. If the service is ending, we initiate a controlled offboarding process in line with agreed security procedures, including the shutdown of any managed endpoints, processing components, or relay nodes used to support sensor communications and data delivery. All customer-specific cryptographic material is securely destroyed, including device credentials, access tokens, and encryption keys, and all access permissions are revoked to prevent further connectivity. Where hardware has been provided as part of the service, it is left available for the client to collect, retain, or destroy in accordance with their own policies. A completion confirmation can be provided, including evidence of decommissioning and key destruction where required.

- We guarantee service availability in line with our agreed SLA and the availability commitments of the underlying cloud providers used to deliver the service (e.g., AWS and Cloudflare). This includes the availability of the managed control plane, endpoints, and relay/processing services operated within those environments. Availability may be impacted by factors outside our direct control, including upstream cloud provider outages, connectivity disruption, or adversary activity affecting communications bearers. We do not guarantee availability of customer-held or field-deployed hardware, as physical damage, loss, power constraints, and environmental conditions can affect operation; however, we design the service to be resilient through redundancy, monitored health checks, rapid re-provisioning of managed components, and secure re-keying and re-onboarding processes where required.

The Remote Sensor Management service is designed to be resilient by combining secure-by-design communications, adaptive transport mechanisms, and cloud-native operational robustness. Communications are protected using ephemeral keys and short-lived credentials to reduce exposure if a device or channel is compromised, with automated rotation and revocation to maintain trust over time. Where possible, the service uses MASQUE-based connectivity and modern resilient protocols that blend into normal encrypted internet traffic, helping reduce detectability and improving survivability against interception, blocking, or targeted disruption.
At the service layer, resilient cloud patterns are used for managed endpoints and relay/processing components, including redundancy, automated failover, continuous monitoring, and rapid re-provisioning. The system is designed to tolerate intermittent or degraded links by using store-and-forward behaviour, controlled transmission profiles, and policy-driven retry logic across multiple bearers (RF, 3G/4G, SAT). Combined, these measures ensure the service can maintain operational continuity, recover quickly from disruptions, and sustain secure delivery of indicators and warnings in contested environments. - Outage reporting
