- API
- Yes
- What users can and can't do using the API
-
What users can do:
Users can interact with the Control Suite, particularly Cloud Governance, Policies & Insights, and EnPower. Using documented APIs to retrieve governance data, surface policy insights, and automate certain governance actions (e.g., retrieving policy violations, triggering lifecycle workflows). API use is supported where products expose modern, published endpoints, as referenced in Control Suite technical requirements (e.g., demonstrating retrieval of policy related data via API).
How users can set up the service via API:
Setup generally involves authenticating with the AvePoint Confidence Platform, then calling the relevant service endpoints to register governance templates, configure policies, or integrate workflow automation. Users may script provisioning or governance tasks where supported by modern Cloud Governance and Insights APIs.
How users can make changes:
APIs can update configurations, query risk insights, or trigger lifecycle events, where these functions exist in the modern API set. - API documentation

- Customisation available
- Yes
- Description of customisation
-
Customisation in the Control Suite centres around governance, lifecycle settings, policies, templates, and metadata.
What can be customised
Users can customise workspace provisioning (e.g., naming conventions, templates, metadata collection), access and compliance policies, automated lifecycle rules, and notification behaviours. The platform allows organisations to define tailored governance frameworks and map workspaces to business contexts or protection requirements.
How users can customise
Customisation is done through the Control Suite’s policy engine and configuration interfaces. Administrators can define provisioning templates, granular rules, metadata requirements, and link workspaces to protection/retention policies. They can also create custom automated workflows and enforce tailored access and compliance controls. The Confidence Platform’s data orchestration engine supports applying custom rules consistently across Teams, SharePoint, and other workspace types.
Who can customise
Customisation is primarily performed by IT administrators and governance owners, who manage policies and templates. Business stakeholders can also participate by defining workspace purposes and governance inputs, while data owners influence governance behaviours through metadata and classification choices.
