Fighting climate change

As we are acutely aware of the environmental impacts of tech, we carefully select our tools and technologies to ensure compliance with our climate pledge which aims to make us a net-zero company by 2025. Only a year away, this target is highly achievable due to our use of hosting servers powered by sustainable energy, remote working practices, and net zero-pledged tools and technologies such as Google Developer Tools, Slack, Asana (which has been carbon-neutral since 2019), and Figma (which has signed a Climate Pledge to become net zero by 2040) to support a low-carbon supply chain. We adhere to modern best practices for development including reducing calls to the server through streamlined code and minimising large files and can measure the carbon impact of our projects and offer our clients the option to offset their emissions through our valued partners in the conservation space as an additional service.

Tackling economic inequality

We design and build projects that are accessible to people with diverse abilities - regardless of their hardware, software, language, location, or other factors. Our commitment to accessibility follows the updated WCAG 2.2 guidelines up to AAA level, encompassing the entire development process from planning to support. Through our past and current collaborations with public sector organisations, we have the expertise (and track record) to deliver projects that surpass high accessibility standards.

Equal opportunity

As we are aware of gender diversity issues within the tech industry overall, we are proud to have a 50% female workforce with colleagues from all around the world with a broad range of abilities, interests, and hobbies. We have also been AWS External Ambassadors team for the Get IT Programme since 2021 which encourages young people (particularly girls) to pursue careers in tech. As a team, we are supportive of all of our colleagues, including staff who may be transitioning in their gender identity or expression and our internal policies outline our commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for all employees. Our company was founded on the idea that there should be a better way to build software so it’s user-friendly, modern, and powerful. We believe that true creativity can only flourish where teams can present a diverse range of ideas, contribute unique life experiences, and show different perspectives that move projects forward. We have a culturally diverse team and our approach to recruitment has always been to seek out creative people who share our vision of innovation by testing candidates on their skills rather than just their interview performance, as well as investing in our colleagues to upskill teams and new-starts.

Wellbeing

We promote mental well-being in the workplace by providing flexible working opportunities as well as individual support for staff struggling to manage stress and maintain a healthy work-life balance. As an organisation, we want to support our teams and their families, and as such provide paid maternity and paternity leave, as well as support for foster parents.
