Planning

- How the planning service works
-
The planning phase typically begins with an in-depth assessment of the existing system, including its business functions and overall architecture. From there, a strategy is devised for transformation or modernization including:
• Business objectives are clearly articulated to align with the modernization efforts including scalability, experience, efficiency and security. Specific components within the legacy application that are suitable for conversion into microservices are identified. These components are gradually transformed into separate, standalone services. This transformation may include redefining the data model, developing new APIs, and re-implementing business logic in a modular fashion.
• Relevant stakeholders are identified and their inputs & expectations are sought for the strategy along with the priorities.
• The right technology stack is chosen considering cloud-native MACH architecture principles.
• A phased plan is created with agile methodologies to realize incremental progress for development of the critical components.
• Risks for migrating from legacy to the modern systems are deliberated and appropriate mitigations put in place.
• Rigorous testing of the modernized application is conducted for functional, regression, performance and security.
• The legacy and modern applications operate in parallel for a period of time. A gradual decommissioning is planned for the legacy application. - Planning service works with specific services

At Zensar, we prioritize continuous learning through gamified, community, and customer contextual methods. While there are organizational trainings mandated for different roles, project specific requirements are addressed exclusively.
Our training approach is flexible, employing a hybrid mode that combines in-person and virtual elements to suit individual preferences and maximize learning outcomes.
The modernization programme is documented using the possible collaboration tools - Jira, ADO, Confluence, etc. All the code is maintained within repos, with the readme files. There are constant code walkthroughs and demos that happen with the customers ( 2 week sprint demos, monthly demos, feature demos, QA test cases walkthrough, defects list etc.).
The team works together with the customers todefine the backlog and prioritize the work. All the items are documented and formal KT is done with the customers and their extended teams, as the need be at the time of a handover. - Training is tied to specific services

Zensar’s "Digital Assurance Practice" focuses on traditional as well as digital technology testing needs such as Omni Channel, Mobile, Analytics, Cloud, application modernization and Big Data. With an “automation-first” approach, the testing services support transformation while ensuring:
• Cost optimization with reusability, componentization
• Improved efficiency with configurability and ease of maintenance
• Enhanced customer experience with data driven governance, improved testing processes and intuitive reporting
Our consultants & practitioners are adept in BDD and TDD approaches. Our services are spread across consultancy, automation, nonfunctional testing, digitalization and specialized testing. Our framework supports multiple scripting languages (Java, C#, Python), GenAI accelerators and real-time integrations with heterogenous test management and test data management tools.
In alignment with customer’s Agile and DevOps methodologies, our continuous testing services helps in faster go-to-market covering end-to-end functional, regression and performance testing. This helps catching problems early so there’s a continuous focus to improve the stability and reliability of the applications in every release.
For performance, we ensure that the baselines are established, validate that the system or application meets the expectations in each release, ensure compliance with regulations and adherence to SLAs. These are documented and stored in the knowledge repository for auditing and reporting.

Fighting climate change
We recognize the urgent need to arrest climate change and are actively working toward reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. Our objective for Scope 1 and 2 emission reduction is to attain net zero GHGs by the end of FY40. We are also currently observing scope 3 emission levels for categories 6 (business travel) and 7 (employee commuting) as part of our monitoring efforts. Progress on GHG emissions: For the FY 2022-23, the Scope (1+2) emissions are 4,057.10 (tCO2e) which has reduced by 4% in comparison to 4,219.77 (tCO2e) in FY 2021-22. In total, for FY 2022-23, there has been a 49.3% reduction compared to the base year FY19. We also have planned to reduce 11% in FY24 as compared to FY23 and 40% reduction in FY25 compared to FY23. For the scope 3 emissions, as businesses have moved to a hybrid model, business travel has increased which resulted in a slight increase of scope 3 emissions in comparison to last year. However, in comparison to the base year 2019, we have reduced the scope 3 emission significantly from 4,288.39 to 1,633.61 in FY 2022-23. This year we are planning commitment to SBTi and will be working towards the addition of other applicable scope 3 parameters. Green building certifications: As a key component of our initial goals, we aimed for the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) certification for our newly leased facilities in Bengaluru in 2018, in Pune in 2020, and in Bengaluru Cessna in 2021. We earned the IGBC Platinum Rating Certificate for Green Interiors as well – a testament to our commitment to becoming a sustainable and eco-friendly enterprise.Covid-19 recovery
