How the training service works
Many organisations including research institutions face challenges due to skill gaps when transitioning to Linux OpenStack and/or Kubernetes based private cloud (LOKI stack). StackHPC addresses this by providing workshops to enhance local skills, capabilities, and confidence, offering customised training and expert support to close this gap, empowering clients to rely less on expensive vendor assistance.

Over the course of two days (our base offering), our experts walk you through the architecture of an OpenStack and Ceph deployment, providing detailed information about all its aspects (networking, security, architecture, workload management, adding further platforms such as Kubernetes).

With our Training and Workshops, we equip teams for effective OpenStack and Ceph administration, aiming for self-sufficiency promptly.

Fighting climate change

Energy and sunk carbon cost efficiency: many organisations struggle to make full use of their computing hardware, limiting its efficiency. By helping them deploy a private cloud infrastructure which allows end-users to self-provision workloads, better use of the hardware can be achieved. Furthermore, by helping organisations optimise workload allocation and getting more performance out of existing hardware, higher efficiency (computing per watt) can be reached. This helps make better use of existing computing resources, which can be used for longer.

Covid-19 recovery

StackHPC partners with many bioinformatics organisations and supports their research into the prevention of current and future pandemics.

Tackling economic inequality
