Service constraints
Agrimetrics operates a continuous integration/continuous deployment approach, promoting small changes from test into the production environment frequently. Agrimetrics does not stack up changes for maintenance windows and system downtime. However, there may be infrequent occasions where a maintenance window is required, for instance upgrading a key supporting system to a new version.

For proactive, planned maintenance, Agrimetrics generally performs these out- of-hours, with five working days’ prior notification to impact customers, with communications before, during and after the planned maintenance so customers and users are clear when services have been restored to normal.

Onboarding and offboarding

Getting started
For customers puchasing Agrimetrics' Data Marketplace as a SaaS solution bespoke onboarding is provided, as defined in individual service contracts. The Data Marketplace is a completely self-service user experience. The service has been designed to be scalable as more organisations and users sign-up and subscribe to provide, consume, link and analyse data.
Within Agrimetrics' Agri-food Data Exchange, the Data Catalogue gives metadata about every data set that Agrimetrics and other data providers have made available openly or at a premium. The APIs are fully documented within the application developer area within the Agri-food Data Exchange. However, it is recognised that customer enablement is sometimes necessary and Agrimetrics can provide online support to help organisations and users add or consume data for the first time. Short workshops can be accommodated for larger numbers of staff.

End-of-contract data extraction
Customers who have made data available through Agrimetrics' Agri-Food Data Exchange as part of a subscription can readily download and delete those data at the end of their use of the service. This is self-service capability.
End-of-contract process
Agrimetrics' Agri-Food Data Exchange does not require any decommissioning at the end of the subscription contract. The customer and its users can simply delete their accounts and stop using the service. If the customer does not itself remove any data that it has provided to through the Data Catalogue, and also remove the Data Catalogue entry, Agrimetrics will do this as part of its regular data management processes.
Off-boarding arrangements for customers using Agrimetrics' SaaS product are as defined in individual contracts.

Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
The SLA for Agrimetrics' agri-food Data Exchange is 99.5% service availability during normal business hours (9am-5pm Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays). Whilst the services are always-on outside normal business hours, this out-of-hours availability is currently not subject to an SLA.

Agrimetrics is able to offer a higher SLA (e.g. 99.9%) for customers purchasing Agrimetrics' SaaS product, if this is a requirement this can be arranged as part of the Licence Fee scaling metrics.
Approach to resilience
Agrimetrics is ISO 22301 certified. Resilience and redundancy are built into the architecture upon which the Agri-Food Data Exchange and the Data Marketplace SaaS solution operate. The services are hosted in the public cloud infrastructure of Microsoft Azure; with redundant servers; multiple copies of data; backups; hot and cold stand-by and data replication, depending on criticality of the data; and diverse connectivity to Azure datacentres over the public internet.
Outage reporting
Service outages are notified internally via extensive and automated monitoring and alerting tools.
Service outages are reported to customers through a public dashboard.
Users who are attempting to consume data through APIs where that service is unavailable would return error codes.

Information security policies and processes
Agrimetrics has implemented the ISO27001:2013 framework for information security and is certified to this Standard by a UKAS-accredited certification body. It has established Information Security Policies reflecting the ISO27001 controls, and has embedded best practices in information security management throughout the organisation. Agrimetrics' information security policies/procedures: provide a framework for establishing suitable levels of information security for all information systems, and to mitigate risks associated with their compromise; ensure that users are aware of and comply with relevant legislation; provide the principles by which a secure information systems working environment can be established for all users; ensure that all users understand their responsibilities for protecting the confidentiality and integrity of the data that they handle; protect Agrimetrics from liability/damage through the misuse of its IT facilities; maintain information provided by third parties at a level of security commensurate with its classification; respond to changes in the context of the organisation, initiating a cycle of continuous improvement.
Organisational roles, responsibilities and authorities pertaining to security governance are documented in Agrimetrics' Management System. The CEO is ultimately responsible for information security. Operational responsibility for information security is delegated to an Information Security Team and further supported by process owners throughout the business.

Operational security

Configuration and change management standard
Supplier-defined controls
Configuration and change management approach
Code review includes: linting (e.g. Pylint), where all developer workstations warn on common coding error violations; peer-to-peer review during pair programming; and a security review, where all reviewers check code against the OWASP Top 10 and other common security checks.
Agrimetrics operates Continuous Deployment, where every change is deployed from test to production without interrupting service. The expand-and-contract pattern is used where the receiving class or service accepts new behaviour as well as the old behaviour, with changes behind feature flags that can be toggled on/off, and changes validated in production before the old behaviour is removed
Vulnerability management type
Supplier-defined controls
Vulnerability management approach
Agrimetrics assesses potential threats through six-monthly internal security threat assessments based on the STRIDE threat assessment model developed at Microsoft; engaging an independent information security consultancy to perform annual vulnerability scanning and penetration testing; and through robust ISO27001 risk management processes.
Agrimetrics receives notifications from all vendors including Microsoft and an independent Cyber Consultancy on newly identified security threats, and apply patches immediately when they become available.
Protective monitoring type
Supplier-defined controls
Protective monitoring approach
Potential compromises are identified through extensive monitoring.
Agrimetrics's services are hosted fully in Microsoft Azure. Azure's monitoring services include alerts and dashboards that Agrimetrics incorporates within its overall monitoring dashboard built using Grafana. Agrimetrics' Security Incident Event Management uses Azure's Sentinel service. Potential compromises are triaged as incidents and prioritised for resolution and reported to the DPO, the Information Security Officer and the Senior Leadership Team as appropriate. Once triaged, major and serious incidents are moved into resolution immediately.
Incident management type
Supplier-defined controls
Incident management approach
Agrimetrics uses an incident management approach based on ITIL principles. Incidents are: proactively detected/identified through monitoring/reported by users; registered and categorised; diagnosed, resolved (through a fix or workaround) and closed; and appropriately escalated and communicated throughout. External users use an IT service management (ITSM) solution, email or telephone support to report incidents; internal users also have instant collaboration tools. Incidents are prioritised: Priority 1 (major), 2 (high), 3 (medium) and 4 (low). The response to common events has been automated where appropriate. Progress updates are communicated to customers and users, and after major incidents an incident report is issued.
