As a micro business providing direct support from a very small team, with much home working, this is difficult to measure, although all work undertaken has a focus on social value, equality and well-being.
CCL has undertaken considerable activity on social value and the role of digital solutions and technology in particular that help public bodies to fight climate change:
• Work on 'connected places' for Socitm with a focus on environment and energy, and the important of digital solutions to drive better social outcomes and well-being;
• Published research work on digital inclusion, health and social care integration, and how IT and digital trends can be harnessed for public good by public bodies;
• Helping public bodies to use technologies such as cloud computing to meet their net zero ambitions and to ensure technology applications is for public good.
CCL as a business operates on a low carbon basis in all aspects of work:
• Public transport is always used where possible, traveling by car is generally with hybrid vehicle;
• Travel in general is minimised where possible by the use of video and flexible working;
• The main CCL registered office is largely powered by solar energy installed in 2024, and energy use is tracked;
• Use of paper is minimised, plastics avoided (e.g. laminated or glossy marketing).
