The Client Delivery Team at CAPSLOCK provides continuous strategic planning services throughout our engagements, aiming to understand our clients' short, mid, and long-term cyber requirements, plans, projects, and priorities. We deploy consultants who bring value to project delivery from the outset, even during the initial planning phases.
This involves various tasks such as crafting cyber transformation roadmaps, revising policies and procedures, implementing technologies and strategies, and designing cyber culture and awareness programs. The management of projects encompasses the following capabilities:
• Assisting in identifying cyber project objectives, delineating the scope, comprehending constraints, and outlining assumptions.
• Formulating plans to enhance cyber resilience and overall cyber posture.
• Assisting in the selection and establishment of processes for project management.
CAPSLOCK offers a buyer workforce gap analysis, to support and enhance existing permanent capability. We allow for transfer of consultants to permanent after an agreed period of time and offer transfer planning services for a smooth transition. - Planning service works with specific services

Alongside or as an alternative to leveraging our cyber security consultants, we also provide training services to upskill or reskill existing buyer staff. This opportunity enables a buyer to develop capabilities to improve retention and diversity of internal teams. We provide training in cyber across all critical technologies, policy, processes and people elements. We use innovation in learning to ensure we develop our consultants in the technical and people skills needed to deliver value immediately. We provide training across all key areas of cyber that are essential in enabling cloud hosted services to be securely managed across their lifecycle.
CAPSLOCK’s training delivery is led by experts in cyber who all have extensive cyber experience. We follow an approach where learners are based in a company as a consultant from day one of their training. We use a skills first method with real-world scenarios where learners solve cyber security problems developing their technical understanding within a business context. The curriculum cuts across the breadth of cyber and is underpinned by helping to develop critical analysis, problem solving, analytical thinking and communication skills. - Training is tied to specific services

CAPSLOCK offers services to help buyers transition securely to the cloud environment. We provide cost effective cyber consultancy and services, which cover a comprehensive range of cloud security requirements. These requirements are: data encryption at rest and in transit; identity and access management (including privileged access management); compliance to standards and regulations; backup and disaster recovery; network security; monitoring and logging for detection and response; training and awareness activities and supplier assurance.
Our consultants are trained to support short and mid term requirements and can continue to deliver long-term after conversion to permanent. Our services help migrate applications, systems, and services to secure cloud-based solutions. - How the support service works
- Junior consultants receive continuous support both during and whilst they are working on a cloud project. We help them to develop strong soft (impact) skills before their project work begins which enables them to build personal flexibility and resilience. CAPSLOCK conducts regular reviews for both the buyer and the consultants. The aim of a reviews process is to monitor and evaluate a buyers’ needs and goals against KPIs. It gives the opportunity to talk about any issues and find relevant solutions, and identify areas for change. CAPSLOCK provides continued access to learning labs and resources for consultants, increasing their productivity and helping them to maintain continuous professional development.
Service scope
- Service constraints
- All service levels are agreed prior to the start of a project. There remains an option for the buyer to convert from consultant to permanent staff. This conversion can be invoked following a period of 12, 18 months or 24 months if the buyer, CAPSLOCK and the consultant are all in agreement.

Thew will also be in contact with the buyers’ hiring managers to ensure continuity of service from the initial interview and selection stage.
Once the consultant is in post, the Service Manager will form part of the contract delivery team lead by the Contract Manager. Continued support is available to the consultants to ensure that they are developing their skills. Any labs, training and learning resources remain available to the consultants to make sure they meet the hiring managers’ expectations.

Fighting climate change
CAPSLOCK is 100% remote where all staff, contractors and learners are part of a digital office and/or join a digital campus. We also repurpose and re-use any technological equipment in line with our policy for eliminating waste. Where possible, meetings are conducted remotely and we encourage power saving settings on all company owned equipment. We have a Carbon Reduction Plan to achieve Net Zero by 2030.Covid-19 recovery
We help to address the economic challenges brought about by COVID-19. CAPSLOCK’s mission is to remove barriers to life-changing education by working with underrepresented talent and those disproportionally affected by COVID-19. We also support our clients to build and diversify their workforce.
We create the opportunity for individuals to develop the cyber skills they need to solve the business challenges brought on by COVID-19; mostly through changes in remote working or changes in practice that result in security challenges. We work especially hard to increase access to cyber training and employment opportunities by collaborating with minority groups who have suffered more from the pandemic or for those in declining industries.
Our re-skilling activities therefore offer the opportunity for those working in sectors most affected by COVID-19 to make the most of their transferable skills to move into cyber (e.g. hospitality). We support all with a dedicated careers service, qualified cyber coach and mental health first aider network (50% of our staff are trained mental health first aiders).
We have a network of mentors who are made up of alumni, consultants and industry experts who volunteer and support individuals in their career journeys. Volunteering opportunities are available to those who wish to develop skills for future employment following COVID-19.
Our training was designed to be fully remote as a response to the need to become more adaptable and cost-effective operationally due to the changes in the way we work. This means that we can provide a flexible service to clients and also offer a career change opportunity to those in remote areas or those without resources to travel.
We take part in round table and government policy reviews to influence future practice on skills in the cyber sector. This is particularly for those looking to change mid-career or in underrepresented groups.Tackling economic inequality
We encourage applications from underrepresented and disadvantaged individuals and remove barriers to education and employment. Specifically, we look to engage with women, returners to work, long term unemployed, veterans, and those with disabilities. We also encourage anybody from non-technical backgrounds and those in low paid work to apply. As such, we look to reduce regional and societal economic inequalities. We believe that background, previous experience or educational attainment should not be a barrier to success. We therefore recruit by looking at motivation, hard work, dedication and determination alongside potential. We use this method as a recruitment approach for levelling economic inequalities.
We work with regional organisations such as the cyber security clusters in Yorkshire and the North West to access individuals from low-income backgrounds and provide support with Department for Education (DfE) funding for financing training. In this way we are able to work with people who cannot afford a degree or certifications to provide an alternative route into the cyber sector, or those who are long term unemployed or looking for a career change. We continue to support our contractors into employment with our dedicated careers and support services (which includes coaching, mentoring and mental health first aid support).
CAPSLOCK engages with businesses of all sizes as part of both our supplier base, our buyers and as employer partners. Our contractors have been deployed into multi-national organisations and micro businesses and as such we always look to diversify our supply chain of cyber talent.Equal opportunity
We focus on engaging many groups of individuals via our campaigns and recruitment activities. These include but are not limited to: ethnic minority groups; individuals from low-income backgrounds; those from under-served geographical areas; those who face entry barriers to higher education and university; and parents and carers returning to work. We engage with external charities and organisations to ensure we are connected to those who might benefit the most from the opportunity to reskill and to gain cyber security skills for employment in this sector.
We celebrate diversity in the widest context through active role modeling and visibility. CAPSLOCK won the Best Cyber Company for Diversity in 2024 for our commitment to diversifying the sector and supporting equal opportunities no matter of background.
Any issues that are brought to our attention that go against our values are dealt with quickly and professionally.Wellbeing
CAPSLOCK invests in physical and mental wellbeing for all staff, contractors and learners. We have a head of wellbeing and a wellbeing team who look after the learner and contractor teams, with regular check-ins, one to one meetings and team discussions. We have a mediation team to help resolve any individual or team issues and a cyber coach to support individuals and teams to focus on matters such as their wellbeing and career aspirations.
Our ongoing mentoring and support is designed to enable everybody to reach their full potential. We ensure we integrate our wellbeing priorities into our culture and our leadership and across our policies and processes. Part of this approach is to foster open and honest communication through weekly stand-ups and updates. We have a proactive and well-defined wellbeing review process to ensure any issues are identified and resoled as early as possible. As part of this process, we address a number of potential areas for focus such as burnout, neurodiversity, ADHD, English as an additional language and managing conflict.
Our induction, HR policies and all our processes for staff and for learners incorporate our commitment to wellbeing. 50% of our staff are trained mental health first aiders (MHFAs) who work with staff, contractors or learners to support their wellbeing.
In line with requirements, we carry out workstation assessments to mitigate the health and safety risks associated with display screen equipment (DSE) and risk assessments where needed for staff or learners.
