Fighting climate change

Rossera is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. Whilst Rossera became Carbon Neutral in 2022 through small-scale carbon offset, we continue to strive to be net-zero by 2050, with the aspiration to achieve the target much sooner.

Rossera’s Carbon Footprint is already very low and any residual footprint is offset such that we are net zero. We continue to strive to reduce our carbon footprint further. In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets. We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 3 tCO2e by 2027. This is a reduction of 25% (based on current organisation size).

Rossera have looked at a number of climate risk factors to operations and supply chains, for example:

Regulatory Risks: Rossera monitor and assess evolving climate regulations to ensure compliance and anticipate potential changes.

Reputational Risk Management: Rossera publish a net zero carbon reduction plan and progress toward carbon reduction goals.

Market Risks: Rossera view market research to identify emerging consumer trends and demands for sustainable products.

Climate Resilience Integration: Rossera integrate climate risk assessments into supply chain management processes, procurement decisions, and business planning.

By adopting these adaptations and climate risk mitigation strategies, Rossera enhance its climate resilience, reduce potential business disruptions, and position itself as a responsible and sustainable company in the face of climate change challenges.

Tackling economic inequality

Equal opportunity is central to Rossera’s culture and our work with clients and society. Our Equal Opportunities Policy states our commitment to ensuring all our people (including staff and subcontractors) receive fair and equitable treatment in all our practices – regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, disability, socioeconomic background, or any other characteristic. The Policy covers direct and indirect discrimination, bullying, harassment, and victimisation. There are guidelines for equal opportunities in practice, ranging from recruitment to pay. Our key values include ‘fostering inclusion’ and ‘taking care of each other’ reflecting our commitment to equal opportunities. Inclusive recruitment processes set out to improve social mobility in the workplace. Our interview techniques encourage applicants from different cultural backgrounds, and interview format promotes inclusion of neuro-diverse colleagues. We have a diverse pool of trained interviewers. We foster inclusion by supporting remote/flexible working and leveraging technology, so we can support people from diverse and economically challenging backgrounds.

Our key values include ‘fostering inclusion’ and ‘taking care of each other’ reflecting our commitment to equal opportunities. The Policy is supported by our agile working policy demonstrating our commitment to provide an inclusive workplace and ensure the health and wellbeing of our people. The Policy complies with The Equality Act 2010 and other equality legislation e.g., the Work and Families Act 2006 and Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. Staff are aware that non-compliance with the Policy is investigated fully with potential disciplinary action. Our team commit to a culture of inclusivity and openness throughout. Feedback and wellbeing sessions allow all our team to have a voice, share success and gather lessons learnt to continuously improve the way that we work. This is an iterative process and we recognise will not get everything right all the time. Listening and acting quickly on feedback will help to ensure we successfully support the health and wellbeing of the team.

Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our workforce is paramount. We are committed to ensuring that we have a diverse and inclusive workforce, where all have a voice. We are working with government and other supplier organisations to promote Mental Health and Wellbeing within the LGBTQ+ community and look to continue sponsoring such events. Our workforce adheres to an atmosphere of inclusivity and transparency throughout. We provide feedback and well-being sessions, allowing all team members to express their opinions, share accomplishments, and convey lessons learned in order to continuously enhance our working methods. By listening carefully to feedback and taking prompt action, we can effectively maintain the health and well-being of our workforce. We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace. To achieve this, we have implemented a range of practices and initiatives to support the recruitment, development, and retention of talented individuals irrespective of any disabilities or health conditions. These include providing managers with specialised guidance and our workforce commitment to offer any adjustments required to accommodate an individual’s needs and to support an employee's successful career journey with us. We prioritise the holistic well-being our workforce. To ensure our employees have access to health resources, we provide them with comprehensive health plans that offer various coverage options, including mental health support. We also offer a variety of virtual and in-person wellness workshops and classes. These range from stress management and time management skills to exercise classes and nutritional counselling. To foster a culture that prioritises well-being, we ensure all employees take full holiday entitlements and attend mental health awareness days. We also promote an inclusive environment by offering employee assistance programs that provide confidential counselling and other resources to any employee who may need additional support.
