Fighting climate change

By providing digital online content and SaaS we are helping customers reduce their environmental footprint by decreasing the need for traveling to physical locations to attend face to face learning sessions and the need for physical printing of learning materials. By knowledge sharing with our customers on how online 1-1, community forums and other tools can be used we aim to help guide them in reviewing current ways of working and processes. Learning Nexus also made a decision to reduce energy consumption while having a hybrid working model was taken under consultation and the result drove the reduction of our 2 main physical offices which in turn reduced energy consumption and carbon footprint of staff by allowing a fully remote workforce. Staff working remotely are encouraged to look at energy saving lighting and we have a 'be aware' statement that remind our staff of the benefit of being environmentally aware in recycling and printing, which is included in our onboarding process to ensure cultural change is continued.

Covid-19 recovery

Covid-19 has changed the working culture forever but following our internal consultation with all staff, it has proven that working remotely is as effective as working from the office. Working from home decreases the use of vehicles and thus it’s an environmentally sound action. We have structured 1-1 and group meetings along with a Newley launch staff hub where the sense of community is promoted with new learning and sharing of success. This ensures that staff feel part of the team and open communication at all levels is still key. Our aim with customers is to lead by example and encourage them to success by sharing our knowledge of how we have implemented change and how this can be translated into their own working practices.
Along with this we created a set of courses that tackle remote working and staying safe in Covid times which are now part of our eLearning offering to customers.

Equal opportunity

We seek to employ a workforce that reflects the diverse community at large, because we value the individual contribution of people irrespective of sex, age, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, race, colour, caste, religion, or belief, and ethnic or national origin. All employees are treated with dignity and respect. We use our best endeavours to provide a working environment free from unlawful discrimination, harassment, or victimisation on the grounds of sex, age, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, race, colour, caste, religion, or belief, and ethnic or national origin. We provide many courses on the subject of inclusion, equal opportunities, having difficult conversations that give customers a base line of conduct which can be incorporated into their own internal policies and culture to encourage a balanced working environment. We are mindful of using diversity when creating eLearning by the style, images and tone of voice we use. this can be further customised to include our customers own guidelines.

Wellbeing

Learning Nexus has created a comprehensive range of Wellbeing eLearning courses that are available to our customers and our own staff. We knowledge share with customers what works for not just the market but our own staff - in the last few years we have put in place a dedicated Head of people and culture who drives monthly check-ins and activities and has become a trusted consult for many of our staff.
