Moving data to the cloud for data management, analytics and data science purposes introduces new data sources and use cases. NWorld will help organisations to de-risk their cloud data initiatives by managing the quality of their data. This data action plan follows the Government Data Quality Framework.

• How the planning service works: NWorld expects the Cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake and Databricks to be already implemented. The initial set up of these platforms is not in scope of the service. However, part of the service could include aspects such as defining SQL standards, defining Python standards, registering Python libraries, set up of DBT etc, integrating with Data Governance platforms such as Purview or Collibra. NWorld also expects this service offering to integrate tightly with any other data governance programs which include setting up a Data Council, Data Stewards, a data catalogue, metadata management, data lineage etc.

• How the setup or migration service works: Moving to the cloud or migrating to a new cloud platform will usually go hand-in-hand with additional data sources or will lead to new data use cases such as ML or Data Science. Part of the migration planning could well include a data governance review in line with the Government Data Quality Framework simply as a planning or visibility process without actually implementing a solution. This could include a limited profiling study based on limited data points and limited metrics.

The service does not include implementing an organisation's internal operational changes or making systems' changes to upstream systems as a result of recommended interventions.
