Accessibility testing
Our products are designed to support individuals who require assistive technology. All of our products have been tested by millions of daily users with feedback regularly captured and taken into account within our products. Our founder established the organisation over 25 years ago to specifically develop assistive technology to support individuals in education and the workplace.

We are also compliant with WCAG 2.1AA standards

Customisation available
Yes
Description of customisation
Read&Write is fully customisable to suit each individual user. Whether someone needs support with reading, writing, comprehension or focus, the toolbar can be tailored to their personal preferences and working style.

Users can choose which tools appear, keeping only the features they find helpful. Options like font size, colour, voice type, speech speed, prediction settings and highlight colours can all be adjusted to support comfort, clarity and confidence. For those who benefit from visual adjustments, tools like screen masking and text to speech can be fine tuned to reduce strain and improve focus.

Features such as spelling support, word prediction and translation can be turned on or off as needed, while others like audio maker, dictation or vocabulary tools can be shown or hidden depending on how a person prefers to work.

This flexibility makes Read&Write a tool that adapts to each user, promoting independence and removing barriers. It creates a more inclusive experience that recognises that everyone works and learns differently, supporting productivity and wellbeing in every environment.

Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
We guarantee a Monthly Uptime Percentage of 99.99% in any calendar month, using all reasonable commercial efforts in line with industry standards.
If we do not meet this, users may be eligible for service credits: 1 day added for 99.9%-97% uptime, 1 week for 97%-95%, and 2 weeks for less than 95%. Service credits are added to the end of the term and are not monetary. Users must notify us within 30 days to claim credits. Scheduled maintenance and factors outside our control are excluded.
Approach to resilience
We design our service for resilience through a documented Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan, both reviewed and tested annually. We use geo-redundant, encrypted daily backups stored offsite on AWS, with annual restoration tests. Our Antrim site has an automatic backup generator and multiple power/network entry points. Critical systems have a 12-hour or less RTO. Staff can transition to remote work if needed, and our incident response is available 24x7x365. Physical and logical security controls protect our infrastructure.
Outage reporting
We report outages and incidents by providing real-time updates via status pages and support channels. We notify affected customers directly about the nature and extent of the incident, any data involved, mitigation steps, and future prevention measures. We maintain 24/7/365 communication channels for incident reporting and ensure all downtime or security events are logged and monitored for continual improvement.

Configuration and change management standard
Supplier-defined controls
Configuration and change management approach
We operate a documented Change Control Policy aligned with ISO 27001:2022. We track all service components through change registers and project management systems, ensuring requirements and acceptance criteria are defined, documented, and tested before rollout. All changes are risk-assessed for security impact, authorized by management, and tested in controlled environments. Vulnerability scans and penetration tests are conducted, and rollback procedures are in place. All changes, assessments, and outcomes are auditable and retained for review.
Vulnerability management type
Supplier-defined controls
Vulnerability management approach
We assess potential threats through regular vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and continuous threat intelligence from external and manufacturer alert services. We deploy patches based on criticality, with high-severity vulnerabilities remediated immediately and all systems kept up to date within defined SLAs. We use centralized tools like Tenable.io, Wiz and Snyk for scanning and patch management. Our infrastructure team manages patching, and our policies are regularly audited for compliance.
We comply with recognised vulnerability management standards, including ISO 27001:2022, and align our controls with the NIST framework. We also align with the Cloud Security Alliance Cloud Controls Matrix (CSA CCM)
Protective monitoring type
Supplier-defined controls
Protective monitoring approach
We monitor for potential compromises 24x7x365 using centralized logging, automated IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning, and threat intelligence. We identify suspicious activity through real-time alerts and regular penetration testing. When a potential compromise is detected, we immediately notify our Security Team and activate our incident response process, which includes assessment, isolation, notification, and root cause analysis. We respond to incidents within minutes, and regulatory authorities and affected customers are notified within 48 hours for significant events.
Incident management type
Complies with a recognised standard, for example, CSA CCM v4.0 or ISO/IEC 27035:2011 or SSAE-18 / ISAE 3402
Incident management approach
We maintain a formal, management-approved incident management process with pre-defined procedures for common events. We provide 24x7x365 security monitoring and users can report incidents at any time via established communication channels.
