Planning
- Planning service

- How the planning service works
-
We understand the Cone of Uncertainity - "When we start a project we know least about most things".
We work within guidance of GDS service manual and cater for services within each phase.
Discovery: We assimilate user needs, architectural inputs/aspirations, constraints, information assets, security classifications, skills maturity, cultural traits of organisation during a short discovery/planning phase. Produce a discovery report with Alpha proposals.
Alpha: We start with multiple hypothesis, test these with real user feedback by rapid prototyping, and make informed decision working with our clients to setup kick off Beta phase with appropriate people/budget
Beta: Build a scalable reliable service, rollout the service to users, maximising the potential to learn and iterate the service - minimising the risk of building wrong thing that's not fit for purpose. Cover all aspects of production/live readiness - security, operations, cost optimisation, reliability, monitoring/reporting, quality assurance.
Live: Iteratively improving your service, reacting to new needs and demands, and meeting targets set during its development. Eventually switching off any existing services and removing the beta badge. - Planning service works with specific services

Training methods include:
• Mentoring: support and knowledge transfer is provided directly to in-house staff and/or other suppliers as part of the day-to-day .
• Shadowing: this involves part or full time support to one or more client individual, specifically supporting them in handling their day to day activities, and providing real time support and assistance with new roles and new responsibilities.
• Creation of a Knowledge Repository: we encourage the creation of a shared space for storing useful collateral, worked examples, templates and case studies that facilitate improved working. - Training is tied to specific services

- How the setup or migration service works
- We use variety of migration techniques available from AWS or bespoke based on organisation's legacy architecture and carefully craft a migration proposal/plan during Discovery phase, which we put to test within Alpha and make appropriate technology decisions working within client's governance and build the migration architecture/product/pipelines in Beta and finally bring service to Live and decommission legacy components.

Quality assurance and performance testing
- Quality assurance and performance testing service

- How the quality assurance and performance testing works
-
We follow a continuous Quality Assessment and work in agile environment. We build automated pipelines for development and deployment of the code and infrastructure depending on the client's needs.
A typical automated QA process that applies to both application development and infrastructure development is below
Code Reviews/PR Merges, Static Code Analysis (SAST -> SonarQube/Semmle), Code Coverage (unit test), Build deployable module, build/launch/configure environments automatically, deploy application modules to the environment, deploy and execute automated integration tests (this applies to Web/Mobile/API), execute automated security testing (OWASP 10, ZAP, BDDSecurity) , build test reports/code coverage and dashboards.
As execution of performance tests can lead to unexpected expenses as you pay for what you use in cloud environment. We tend to automate and execute these on demand at varying scale to identify and address issues early in development lifecycle.
In integration environment we run baseline performance tests automated using blaze meter/jmeter to compare the test results overnight and report on deviations.
In staging environments we use enterprise performance testing tools e.g. Neotys/Load Runner/Gatling to simulate the performance tests based on real world usage and anticipated scenario.

Fighting climate change
In the context of cloud computing and technology, our organisation is committed to achieving additional environmental benefits during contract delivery, particularly by striving for net zero greenhouse gas emissions. We will leverage the inherent efficiencies of cloud computing to reduce the environmental impact of IT infrastructure, consolidating resources and optimising data processing to lower energy consumption. By migrating to energy-efficient data centres and cloud services powered by renewable energy, we will significantly reduce our carbon footprint and minimise electronic waste through virtualisation and scalable computing.
To foster a wider positive impact, we will actively influence our staff, suppliers, customers, and the broader tech community to promote environmental protection and improvement. Internally, we will embed sustainable practices into our corporate culture by training employees on energy-efficient coding and architecture, encouraging the development of applications that optimise resource use. Externally, we will engage with suppliers to ensure sustainable cloud infrastructure management, emphasising transparency and accountability for energy consumption and electronic waste reduction.
For our customers, we will provide strategies to help them migrate to the cloud sustainably, enabling them to reduce their environmental footprint. We will offer cloud services that use automation to identify and eliminate inefficient resource usage. Additionally, we will offer robust data lifecycle management, ensuring that obsolete data is disposed of securely while minimising storage energy consumption.
In the broader tech community, we will support initiatives that promote climate action and tech-enabled sustainability. By forming partnerships with local organisations, we will participate in technology-centric environmental campaigns that raise awareness of responsible digital consumption.
In summary, our comprehensive plan incorporates optimised cloud computing practices, supply chain influence, customer collaboration, and community engagement. These measures ensure that our organisation plays a meaningful role in leveraging technology to fight climate change.Covid-19 recovery
Our organisation is committed to creating new job opportunities in high-growth sectors such as technology and renewable energy to help those left unemployed due to COVID-19. Partnering with vocational training providers, we will offer reskilling courses for job seekers, enabling them to transition into emerging fields. Our return-to-work assistance programs, including mentorship, career counselling, and job placement services, will prioritise individuals and communities most affected by the pandemic.
We will support people and communities directly impacted by COVID-19 by partnering with local charities to deliver essential supplies to vulnerable individuals, especially those who are shielding or unable to leave home. We will also help reduce digital exclusion by providing low-cost technology resources and training, ensuring people can access online services and stay connected. Additionally, we will fund community wellness programs focused on resilience, mindfulness, and building social connections.
For businesses and organisations seeking to recover from the pandemic's effects, we will offer advisory services to help them navigate the post-COVID economy, implement risk management strategies, and adopt new ways of working. We will foster collaborative forums where businesses can share best practices and resources to overcome pandemic challenges.
Recognising the importance of physical and mental health support, we will provide employees access to mental health resources, including counselling and stress management services. To reduce the burden on healthcare systems, we will promote vaccination programs and offer paid sick leave to ensure swift recovery from illness.
Our workspaces will implement social distancing protocols like staggered shifts, improved ventilation, and sanitisation stations. We will invest in IT infrastructure to support secure remote working and encourage sustainable travel solutions, such as cycling and carpooling, to reduce transmission risks and promote eco-friendly mobility.Tackling economic inequality
Our organisation is committed to fostering entrepreneurship, business creation, and economic growth. We will create opportunities for new and small businesses to flourish by providing them with mentorship, access to financing, and business development resources. This will empower these enterprises to expand their operations and contribute to economic growth. We also aim to provide employment opportunities for individuals who face barriers to employment or are located in deprived areas, focusing on those with the potential to make meaningful contributions. By prioritising high-growth sectors and areas with known skills shortages, we will facilitate career development through comprehensive employment and training programs.
To support educational attainment and skills development, we will implement training schemes that align with the contract's requirements, addressing skill gaps while helping participants earn recognized qualifications. Our efforts will influence staff, suppliers, customers, and communities to promote the importance of skill-building and create employment opportunities in high-growth sectors.
Increasing supply chain resilience and capacity is crucial to addressing economic inequality. This holistic approach will ensure sustainable economic growth while helping mitigate inequality by generating opportunities for entrepreneurship, employment, and skill development.Equal opportunity
Our organisation is dedicated to closing the disability employment gap by actively working to increase the representation of disabled people within our workforce. This includes ensuring inclusive hiring practices, providing tailored accommodations, and raising awareness among our managers to recognise and remove biases. Our internal training schemes are designed to help disabled employees gain new skills directly relevant to their roles, leading to recognised qualifications and empowering them to achieve their full potential.
Through the delivery of this contract, we will foster an inclusive culture that supports disabled people across all levels of our operations. We will influence staff, suppliers, customers, and communities to prioritise inclusivity, ensuring that our partnerships and business relationships reflect these values.
To tackle workforce inequality more broadly, we will identify and address disparities in employment, skills, and pay within our workforce. By establishing transparent career development pathways, we will support in-work progression for individuals from disadvantaged or minority groups, helping them move into higher-paid positions through targeted skill development and mentorship opportunities. Our workforce programs will be designed to offer a clear trajectory, equipping employees with the skills necessary to pursue upward career mobility.
