How the planning service works
Our Cloud Platform solutions will vary depending on the specific needs of the buyer and can address more immediate demands as well as be flexible to accommodate future workloads.

Planning will consist of understanding business objectives and or strategies required of the platform. We work transparently, visibly, and collaboratively with the client from day 0.

Planning will also need to incorporate whether the Cloud Platform is part of a greenfield implementation or existing cloud infrastructure. So, planning would need to establish the process of enabling cloud data components.

Highlighting any additional procurement will be done early to accommodate procurement processes and lead times that impact planning.

Finally a clear priority process for the projects and capabilities being enabled on the platform will feed into planning, so resources can be allocated appropriately, dependencies managed, and ultimately ensure that the implementation of the Cloud Platform delivers value, from enabling self-service power users to centrally driven capabilities such as scheduled, on-demand or historic/real-time reporting.

How the setup or migration service works
The Cloud Platform Service will help organizations migrate either from on-premise deployments or other cloud hosting solutions. Migration will fit into the following options:
1. Re-host - basically redeploy the solution as-is onto the target cloud platform
2. Re-platform - redeploy the solution with small modifications, optimizing for the target cloud platform.
3. Refactor - optimise the solution and adopt cloud-native best practices to services
4. Re-invent - completely blank canvas of new architecture and design.

Cloud vendors that have services designed to migrate data into their facilities, will be as seamless as possible and be fully leveraged where applicable. In addition, our cloud engineering leadership promotes a high-trust culture of fast feedback and iterative development with customer/business needs at the core.

All migration components will be fully assessed architecturally to ensure the right migration option is selected and the most appropriate migration mechanism is executed.

How the quality assurance and performance testing works
Quality assurance is at the heart of the Amber Labs ethos. All of our engineers have experience in automating unit, integration, and end-to-end testing and are experienced in assessing existing service and software performance, providing alternatives and code refinement where performance and quality can be improved. Security of services will be tested to ensure encryption and principles of least privilege are applied to data storage/management components and computing. Governance processes will be tested to ensure that policies have been implemented correctly so that users cannot create compute beyond their needs and to ensure the compute is terminated when idle according to design. Integration testing will be performed on tools, and technologies that will access services, along with regression tests will be performed to ensure that new capabilities do not negatively impact as it moves forward.
