Training

How the training service works
Launch support is a key inclusion of our standard approach and it includes as necessary interaction with client internal teams, hosting providers and any other stakeholders that need to be involved.

However, the reality is that we would have been collaborating with internal business, administrative and technical staff throughout as we research functional requirements, design and test the solution, then develop and test the component parts. Throughout the delivery of the project, the coaching and equipping for launch will be getting prepared, approaches discussed and issues mitigated.

The training and equipping will occur throughout the project duration, for all roles and through each stage of sharing insights and evolving solutions designs

Client stakeholder involvement with the solution design and development means they are inherently well placed to know the principles and thinking behind the solutions, as well as the workflows and codebase behind them. Our collaborative partnership through the implementation process brings huge familiarity and confidence in the solution and during the design and development process, we’ll identify gaps where we can assist in knowledge transfer and peer to peer training.

Approaches we’ve used successfully before include group workshopping, individual training, ongoing mentorship, peer-to-peer pairing, and creating support videos.

Setup and migration

Setup or migration service available
Yes
How the setup or migration service works
Whichever CMS and hosting options are selected, we will set up the CMS to optimise experience and performance of the new site. This will be undertaken near the beginning of the development phase and provide for Development, Staging and Production (public) environments, enabling us to progress through stages of development and testing independently before promoting the code base to the public “production” environment.

During the Content Review phase, we will seek to appraise all of the content across the website and assess both in terms of suitability for audience needs, accessibility and brand representation, and consider how best to migrate any content which should be used on the new website. It is important for us together to fully understand the scale, complexity, specific integration or bespoke solution needs for the subsequent migration of content to the new website.

Following the review and planning activities we conducted earlier in the project, this phase will see us developing automated migration scripts, extracting content from the current CMS and aligning into appropriate content assets and pages in the new website. There will be an associated need for manual migration, corrections and revisions, and inclusion of new content created by the client team.

Quality assurance and performance testing

How the quality assurance and performance testing works
Within each phase, our researched and tested insights will be shared for discussion and next steps agreed. UX testing results will be shared along with a sprint review demo to showcase newly-developed features.

Our iterative approach to QA occurs in sprints enables us to assure quality early and often, effectively avoiding costly mistakes and oversights further down the road. It also helps us respond and test last-minute changes requested as they emerge in-project.

First, we collaboratively identify what “quality” means. And more importantly, what it means to your stakeholders. Based on the user experience research conducted in previous phases and internal user interviews, together we'll identify quality criteria that allows us to focus testing on areas that matter most.

We will perform user testing at key points throughout development to ensure that the UX of the CMS works well for your users at launch. By working with real users we can learn early and mitigate risk as we go. Ultimately, the earlier we catch any issues, the less costly it will be to resolve that issue. This process will have begun during the IA & Design phase, but will ultimately reach its largest point during the development of the site.

Fighting climate change

6bythree have undertaken sustainability assessments in previous years and are found to be very low energy users overall as there are no office overheads, we infrequently use co-working space in shared office facilities each month, we undertake little travel, there are few team members and we are all using cloud based solutions and we provide only cloud based solutions also. There is little improvement we can make. We have, despite this, committed as an organisation to progress towards BCorp accreditation status during our next trading year, starting in July 2024. As we progress our work with clients we are ever mindful to identify ways of working ethically, seeking sustainable (in all cases of the word) solutions and ways of working and challenging our clients to do so similarly for the benefit of people, planet and reasonable profit. Sustainability is also one of our core values, shared on www.6bythree.com. We state - “we value and seek to nurture sustainable growth through all we do across social, economic, environmental, time and innovation - driving for evidence informed, value based and outcome driven work and partnerships. Our pursuit of BCorp accreditation will see follow this timeline: July 2024 - Undertake BCorp Impact Assessment (BIA) August - Sept - 2024 Appraise and plan to make adjustments we can make both as a company and in our personal lives Q4 2024 - Introduce and set up monitoring mechanisms to improve our BIA score. Q1 2025 - Adjust our governing documents and policies to fulfil the legal requirements of BCorp Q2 2025 - Attain a score of over 80% in the BIA and submit for review and verification of BCorp requirements, adjusting as needed to achieve certification. Q3 2025 onwards, appraise work we undertake to both improve our BCorp position and maintain annual certification.

Covid-19 recovery

Ongoing handling and management of Covid-19 means many different things to different people. We remain mindful of people with vulnerabilities, whether physical, emotional or social and seek to engage people and clients as they wish to collaborate, making all reasonable adjustments to ensure productive working and people's health and wellbeing supported.

Tackling economic inequality

As an organisation we donate 1% of our annual turnover to charities which align to our vision of “helping to improve education, employability and wellbeing worldwide”. We continually contribute to thought leadership relating to our vision of “helping to improve education, employability and wellbeing worldwide” and in recent months shared researched and evidence based insights and recommendations related to helping people of all backgrounds to develop employability skills. We pay well over the UK minimum wage and living wages to all of our people.

Equal opportunity

6bythree also provides ongoing support to a number of local volunteering programs, where we help them to promote wellbeing, equality and diversity. 6bthree Digital Ltd recognises that respect for the dignity and worth of everyone who works at 6bythree is the foundation of harmonious and productive working relationships. Each individual has the right to work in a professional atmosphere that promotes equal opportunities and prohibits discriminatory practices. 6bythree recognises that every person has the right to equal opportunity without discrimination in matters relating to employment or membership in 6bythree. Under no circumstances shall any person be treated in a discriminatory manner because of his or her race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, political belief, religion, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation or age or because an applicant or candidate has been convicted of a criminal or a summary conviction offense unrelated to employment.

Wellbeing

Throughout our working relationships and in the work we deliver for others, we utilise data, user research, testing and collaboration to ensure solutions work well for all people, including those with needs.
