Fighting climate change

Nexus Planning is committed to being a good corporate citizen, creating social value and addressing the challenges of climate change in the way we manage our business, support our team, and engage with our clients and communities.

We identify all carbon emissions arising from our business activities and work with Carbon Footprint Limited to ‘double offset’ them. This means that Nexus Planning is a ‘Carbon Neutral Plus’ business – the equivalent of carbon negative. We were proud to become the first Planning Consultancy in the UK to achieve such a status. An annual carbon assessment is undertaken by the business, which reviews all trips made by our employees during the last calendar year, as well as the CO2 emissions from the consultancy’s five offices and those that are attributable to home working. In order to offset the carbon that we produce, we contribute to an accredited tree planting and forest protection initiative.

Tackling economic inequality

Work from the G-cloud platform would directly support the employment of members of Nexus Planning’s team. All of our team are paid more than the Living Wage and we have no employees on zero hours contracts. Nexus has also recently taken on two RTPI apprentices from areas of hardship. Work from the platform would therefore directly assist us in supporting the Apprentice platform.

Equal opportunity

All of our team are paid more than the Living Wage and we have no employees on zero hours contracts. Nexus has also recently taken on two RTPI apprentices from areas of hardship. Wellbeing

Nexus Planning is committed to providing genuine social value and improving (even in a small way) the communities within which we work. We actively encourage staff to undertake charitable and voluntary endeavours during company time. In London, we have partnered with Thames Reach, an outreach charity aiming to curb homelessness across the capital. As well as raising money, we have also applied our professional skills in working with them on their property requirements for new shelters.
