Supplier customers retain control and ownership of their data. Supplier will not erase customer data for 30 days following an account termination. AWS gives customers ownership and control over their content by design through simple, but powerful tools that allow customers to determine how their content will be secured in transit.

AWS maintains a ubiquitous security control environment across all regions. Each data centre is built to physical, environmental, and security standards in an active-active configuration, employing an n+1 redundancy model, ensuring system availability in the event of component failure. Description of management access authentication
AWS controls access to systems through authentication that requires a unique user ID and password. AWS systems don't allow actions to be performed without identification or authentication. Remote access requires multi-factor authentication. All remote administrative access attempts are logged and reviewed by the Security team for unauthorized attempts or suspicious activity. In 2020, we became the world’s largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy, reaching 65% renewable energy across our business. There are also environmental benefits inherent to running applications in the cloud. A study by 451 Research found that AWS infrastructure is 3.6 times more energy efficient than the median of surveyed enterprise data centres. More than two thirds of this advantage is attributable to a more energy efficient server population and higher server utilization. Our scale enables us to achieve higher resource utilization and energy efficiency than other enterprise data centres. AWS data centres are also more energy efficient than enterprise sites because of comprehensive efficiency programs that touch every facet of our facilities. For instance, when 451 Research factored in the carbon intensity of consumed electricity and renewable energy purchases (which reduce associated carbon emissions), they found that AWS performs the same task with an 88% lower carbon footprint.

Amazon is also heavily invested in supporting employees, customers, and communities effected by the pandemic, and established a $25 million relief fund for partners, such as delivery drivers, and seasonal associates, facing financial hardship or quarantine.
