End-of-contract data extraction
Data is securely encrypted, and at the end of the contract completely removed from our systems. There is no functionality to export this to other backup providers. Users can restore all of their data up until the point the contract ends, should they wish.
End-of-contract process

Should the contract not be renewed, all data is removed from our systems.

Users can login to the web interface and add, remove and manage backup sets. This includes all software settings including changing backup sources, schedules, retention and email contacts. Backup reports can be viewed for the lifetime of the account.
It is not possible to restore files from the web interface, however a restore client is provided.

All data is military grade 256bit AES encrypted within our network so is not visible to staff. Access to servers is protected with secure VPN's and remote access.

Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
Service availability is guaranteed at 99.97%. If the service is unavailable beyond this, 10% of the monthly fee is credited.
For restoring Data, if the user is unable to begin restore within 3 hours, 25% of the fee is credited. If the user is unable to begin restore within 6 hours, 50% of the fee is credited. If the user is unable to begin restore within 12 hours, 100% of the fee is credited.
For support queries, failure to respond to users call within 1 hour or Technical Support Engineer failing to deal with a request within 4 hours has 10% of the monthly fee credited.
Approach to resilience
The Datahive service has been designed so that there are no single points of failure. To achieve this multiple diversely situated server clusters have been implemented. The server clusters are split between at least 2 physical sites, and have multiple power supplies, multiple network cards, and mirrored hard drives. The storage networks within both geographic clusters are in a RAID Z2 (equivalent to Raid 6) configuration with provisioned spare disks. All data is mirrored between at least 2 sites.
There are multiple links between sites, taking different routes and with different presentation points to each building. Networks within sites are fully resilient, utilising multiple links between servers, switching and storage. Internet connectivity is provided via multiple Internet connections, supplied by different ISPs. The networks are protected with multiple firewalls.
