Prisma Cloud provides a number of CLI solutions that can provide security assurance on configuration files used to create cloud infrastructure, and the images that are used to create containers. These CLI tools can be used within the CICD Pipelines to prevent a malicious image or misconfigured infrastructure from entering a production environment.
Customers are provided twistCLI to scan container images and conduct image analysis sandboxing. In addiotn to this, customer can utilise Checkov by BridgeCrew as a CLI tool to scan for IaC misconfigurations, Secret exposure and SCA. Both CLI tools require an API key from the Prisma Cloud console to function. The twistcli tool is delivered with every Prisma Cloud release. It is statically compiled, so it does not have any external dependencies, and it can run on any Linux host. Customers can use these CLI tools as an additional method to assist in scanning, for example adding guardrails in a CICD Pipeline etc. These tools do not allow customers to change global setting for the Prisma Cloud Console - for this use case, customers should consider utilising the Prisma Cloud API.
